So for my 100th post I wanted to do something semi meaningful. But I'll settle for this.
Spam, here is how I see it. In my platoon (I'm in the Army) there are 4 squads, they are all the same. In my company there are 4 platoons, they are all the same sans the HQ platoon. Standardization is almost a must at a company level and even in many larger military formations. It's not like most armies are some sort of rebel formation (though there are those) So I fail to see the beef with spam. See what I did there?
Now I know there are some complaints with min/max las/plas. I run guard and love AC/GL combo, cheap, common, and not to techy in the fluf.
Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way! Thousand Sons 10000 Grey knights 3000 Sisters of battle 3000 I have 29 sucessful trades where others recommend me.

I do 2 platoons, 2 squads with flamers & voxes, command just has a vox and a bolt pistol on the officer, and 1 unit of lascannons for each. And I can throw a special weapon team in each unit, each one with 3 plasmas.
I have 2 units of vets, all armed with shotguns and 3 meltas each.
I run hellhounds in pairs, russes, whatever. I guess 2 is just better than 1.
Well, there's a big difference between real military and toy soldiers. While some redundancy is always good, having an army loaded with identical units is just dull for all involved.
We used to take it with us on exercises, nothing like a fried spam sandwich for breakfast, set your blood vessels rock hard just in time for another frozen day in the forest.
