So I've been pondering which of my (too many) armies to focus on solidly for a while, and decided on my Iron Knights space marines.

I chose to collect Iron Knights because the colour scheme is simple, and I've never seen anyone else collect them (although I haven't googled, because I don't want anyone else's vision of them colouring my own). I've got a heck of a lot of them built up (almost an entire company, plus allies from the 1st and 10th companies), but very few painted and I thought running a blog might inspire me to stick with them and get a decent number of them painted.

I'm using a really basic scheme for them, pretty much just undercoat/basecoat/highlight/wash=done. Pics not the greatest yet (still learning with the camera), but without further ado, here is my WIP melta-dread:

And here we have another WIP dread, this time equipped with a TL heavy bolter:

And finally for today, some of my almost-fully-painted sternguard. They're just a test for the scheme so the painting is a little messier than it will be on the rest. I'm quite proud of the minis themselves though, they're part of my ten-strong all-plastic sternguard unit:

I like the colour scheme, i have thougtht about metal marines myself. And, it helps to get those minis painted if you can get good result with a not too complicated process. As I said, I like it!

The colour contrast between the black and the silver works very nicely, coupled with your clean painting techniques it makes for a very aesthetically pleasing look. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the positive replies guys. I put the base colours on a tactical squad today, so hopefully tomorrow I'll finish them and get some (hopefully better quality) pics up in the evening.

Urgh, taking longer than I'd hoped due to various shenanigans. Got a tac-squad with all the colours on it, but haven't had the time to wash them yet. I'll post results when I do.
