When is says to move a monster one tile closer to Hero, do you just move it to any random square? To the monster mound? Some times it says adjacent to hero but other times just one tile closer? How do you do it? I probably am overlooking this simple rule, sorry

It just has to be in the next tile, you don't have to move it next to a person or a bonepile. This is, of course, offset by the fact many attacks are all targets in the tile.
