How do you figure out gang rating?

iirc it is the sum of the experience points
and possibly ...another score?

Gang Rating is the sum of the gangers cost including their initial cost to purchase them and their equipment, plus their xp.

My website Yakromunda is designed specifically to manage Necromunda gangs and campaigns so you don't have to worry about such things as adding up silly numbers.

ok so if I got this right. My gang rating for this gang should be.

total exp 385 (between all gangers)

costs for the units are

leader 120 gear 50 creds (chain sword silencer and autopistol)

Heavy 60 gear 220 (h stubber autogun carapace flail)

gangers x4 200 gear 210 (4 autopistols, a shotgun, a autogun, 2 frag nades, club, sword, and bolt shell 2, las pistols)

juves x4 100 gear 80 (4 auto pistols a club and flail)

gang rating 1425.

Is this correct? I have in my stash an auto pistol stummers and 103 creds. I did not include those in the 1425 I posted. Is that correct or do I include them?

That gang rating is correct. And no you do not include items in the stash in your gang rating.
