Well, due to work, I will be having alot of down time (while on the job ) and I will be taking my 360 w/ me. So, right now I'm looking for GOOD games that take more than 10 hours to finish.

- I have played and finished Fallout 3 w/ most of the DLC, going to be picking up the GotY Ed.
- Working on getting Mordicai up to lv 61 on Borderlands.
- I have no intrest in GTA games so don't bother w/ those.
- Going to pick up Bioshock and Orange Box. (never finished BS and finished Half Life 2 on the PC)
- Kinda thinking about Oblivion. Not sure about it.

So, anyone else have any suggestions on a good game or two.

Oblivion. It's just about as good as Fallout 3. It is awesome. I love how it is in first person, and it's not a button masher like almost any other game with swords. The combat mechanics are awesome, the storyline is pretty good (although I'm picking up a bit of a warhammer 40k vibe with the whole "emporer holds back the forces of the Daedra a.k.a chaos... you'll find that out when you buy it.) You can get it for less than 20 dollars now, so go for it.

Even if you fething hate GTA with a passion, please do yourself a favor and buy Red Dead Redemption. Even if you hate westerns with a passion, do yourself a favor and buy Red Dead Redemption. It is truly one of the greatest games of this generation, and I'll go ahead and explain why (In the context of 'How this game is different from/better than Grand Theft Auto').

Red Dead Redemption is probably the first videogame that I would consider to have movie-quality writing, voice acting, and character animation. The game contains a lot of poetic irony that is easy to grasp, in the sense that every character has a conflicting ideology that is never necessarily wrong. Rockstar has also done a good job of making characters feel appropriately sympathetic (especially the main character). The game is absolutely filled to the brim with setpieces, unlike the by-the-numbers missions in most sandbox games (If a mission is not memorable in itself, it at least serves the pacing and mood of the story). The ending is quite possibly the best ending out of any game I've ever played.

The 'random activities' present in most sandbox games, which are usually just filler towards the goal of 100% completion, never feel random here. Every activity, from wrangling horses, to collecting bounties, to hunting for pelts, to playing through a round of poker seem to fit the main character perfectly. You also never have to find something to do, as random events pop up randomly and frequently enough to where you'll never be wandering aimlessly. RDR also gives you a lot of purpose behind each action, as the game includes an Honor and Fame system, and it does a great job of rewarding you for things accordingly.

The attention to detail in this game is absolutely incredible. Though some games can claim to be more technically impressive, I'd honestly have to say that simply out of effort, Red Dead Redemption is the best-looking game I've ever seen. The game uses the Euphoria Animation engine, which means that the animations are formulated using actual AI. You have to see this game yourself to be able to truly take in the amount of effort that Rockstar poured into this game; everything meshes together perfectly into an incredibly cohesive result. This game is also much more serious in tone (there's a bit of dry humor here and there, but hardly any of the ridiculously over-the-top parody humor that Rockstar is known for), which helps the world to become incredibly convincing

Aside from that, this is one of the first games with a truly dynamic soundtrack. It definitely works in the game's favor, and it goes beyond 'Ambient Music' and 'Battle music'. At the same time, it repeats elements of itself in the way that only great soundtracks do. The game can feel a bit clunky at first (because of the Euphoria engine driving the animations), but it honestly doesn't take that much time to get used to it. I'm amazed that it has managed to map everything to the controller as well as it has, and most importantly, it's not a very convoluted control scheme like you would expect from a game with so many gameplay aspects.

Oh, and it doesn't hurt that the Multiplayer is like a lite MMO (With the entire game world as your lobby, and levels to earn in assorted deathmatch games).

Again, I beg you to pick this game up. The storyline itself is around 30 hours long (not to mention all of the extra activities), but this is one of those games that you get absolutely drawn into until you've seen it through to the end. It really is a testament to the possibilities contained within the current generation.

Dragon age is an awesome game, although it will cost alot if you want all the DLC extras. Oblivion is similar to fallout in that, if you want to beat the game quickly, you can prolly do it in a day or two. But you have the option of building up so much, such as shops, houses, renting, guild master, leveling, finding special items, themed equipment, developing your own fortress, finding unique quests etc etc etc etc. There is so much to that game, but 95% of it is optional.

Thanks guys.

Thought about Red Dead R. Seriously thinking about it.

Forgot about Dragon Age. Need that one.

Not sure about Mass Effect. I tried playing the first one but it felt very clunky. Played if for a while and the gameplay ticked me off. Took it back. Heard ALOT of good things about ME2. Gonna think on that one.

Thanks again, guys.

I would agree that the story and setting are top notch. the whole feel of the game make me want to dive in. However the gameplay does not. I've only played for a couple of hours but one thing I can't get past is that you have to keep pushing the button to make your horse go faster than walk and it's difficult to find a speed between You'll-get-there-tomorrow and so-fast-that your-horse-gets-pissed-and-bucks-you-off. Also it would be nice if there were a more convenient way of telling if some one was a bad guy than whether they are shooting at you or not.

I agree 100% on that point.

To be more constructive, I agree on oblivion and if you're into JRPG's I hear The Last Remnant is good and really long (I think it's got like 3 discs).

Actually, if you hold down the 'A' button, your horse will continue forward at whatever pace he's currently at without losing any stamina, unless you're at full gallop (which means he'll go just below full gallop). Also, in terms of your horse's stamina, if you want to keep going at full clip without draining your horse completely, try to tap A to spur your horse every three or four gallops. This will keep your horse at full speed while giving it enough time to recharge and not cost any stamina (the only time you should really be spending stamina is to get your horse up to speed). The stamina bar has another good indicator; if your horse gets low on stamina, your controller rumbles, so that's a good way to tell that you should lay off a bit. I suggest you stock up on horse pills and apples for the few racing missions though; they're definitely a blessing there. Also, try to keep your horse for as long as possible, as a horse's stamina levels up. Keep the Kentucky Saddler you get from one of Bonnie McFarlane's missions for sure, as that's one of the fastest horses in the game.

Eventually, you'll run into enough random missions to where you'll instinctually know who you want to shoot at (I assume that's what you're having trouble with). Try using the radar a lot to gauge enemy positions in relation to you. You'll get really good at this eventually, to the point where you'll know where an enemy is without even having to see him first. Keep in mind that the enemies in story missions are almost always appropriately thematic and often explained at some point within the mission. Always find good cover (make sure there aren't red dots on both sides of you), and pop out occasionally to aim and draw enemy fire. This is a good way of getting a bead on your enemy when they're outside the range of your radar (you'll know where to shoot by the movement and gunshots directed at you onscreen). Try to use a pistol from cover as much as possible, as one of the downsides of rifles is that it takes a lot longer to drop back into cover, and that can get you killed when there are a lot of enemies on your ass. Use rifles only when you're trying to clean up enemies from as far away as possible, and you're in no real danger of being killed.

Hopefully this helps. I promise that the controls will become second nature to you eventually. I honestly don't have to think about any action I perform in Red Dead Redemption at all anymore, and I'm not even particularly well-coordinated.

Fable 2, I was under the impression he was looking for good games that last for more than 10 hours

I'm going to say Oblivion like the others, can really spend ages on it and you don't really have to do the story at all.

I don't know about all of you guys, but all those games listed previously were some of my favorite games too. That being said, one that kept me coming back for weeks on end was Civilization Revolution, I just couldn't walk away from it despite its simplicity.

Oblivion hands down, get it! Get the GOTY edition if possible. Iv spend around 50+ hours on my newest character and I havnt completed the main quest or touched the shivering isles.

The only reason you can clock up a large amount of time is during the main quest is to close any Oblivion gates you see, tedious?? Yes it is, but can be worth it for some of the better weapons you get there. Plus the Sigil stones are worth getting (Depends on character e.g. +10 Blade for a Mage isnt the most useful where as +50 Magicka is)

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

You do realize that you are speaking in Farsi with that statement, right?

Once again, thanks for the input. Right now going to give Dragon Age a try, but since I played Fallout 3 (New Vegas can't get here soon enough!!!) I have been intrested in Oblivion. So, I think I will give that a try also.

Thanks all!

I've put more hours on ME2 than any other game for the 360. The newer DLCs are great and different classes/squadmates make the replayability good.

I agree with Wraithlordmechanic's complaints about Red Dead Redemption. The game just didn't do it for me.

I've just painstakingly addressed his complaints (from the perspective of someone who's played the single-player campaign alone for around 50-60 hours).
