Ok guys I have had some miniatures sculpted up for me and am looking to start releasing them in a month or two. What are some options for starting up my own webstore? I know about zen-cart but what else is out there that is good?

Think carefully about what your requirements are now and what you think they will be in future. Then tear the list up and make a much bigger list.

How many figs? If your just starting up, I assume you'll be taking PayPal only? (taking actual credit cards costs quite a bit) Word Press has a few commerce plug ins that might work. Also, look at PayPal - I would think they have a variety of simple plug ins to use their services.
If your small enough, you could even hand code a site to display the figures then use Google or Zoho to embed a simple form for ordering.

Right now it is looking to be about 8 figures so it isn't going to be huge. Right now I am focusing on making the larger named demons and devils based on the artwork from the 1st and 2nd edition ad&d monster manuals. I was going to just use paypal for payment right now.

try these guys
http://www.bigcommerce.com
They do all the hosting and everything, all you really need to do is pick a design and list your products. And if you know HTML the templates are easy to update so you can make your store look however you want it to

PayPal would seem like a reasonable option.
Beyond that, my only real experience is with Miva Merchant, which would be way over the top at this point.
