This is an 1850 point match that my friend (drock) and I played this past weekend. I brought my orks which included:
Ghazzy
Mek with burna and KFF
17 boyz nob with pk
17 boyz nob with pk
7 nobs waggh banner, pk, painboy in a truck reinforced ram, red paint job
7 nobs waggh banner, pk, painboy in a truck reinforced ram, red paint job
15 stormboyz nob with pk
8 lootas
8 lootas
Battlewagon, deffrolla, red paint job, big shoota
Battlewagon, deffrolla, red paint job, big shoota

He was running CSM but trying a few new things
2 Demon princes’ wings and lash
2 squads of 7 plague marines 2 flamers
1 squad of 6 plagues marines 2 meltas
2 squads of 5 bikes champ fist, 2 melta guns, and icon of nurgle (these are deffkoptas casue I forgot my bikes)
3 oblits
Defiler

So setup was table quarters and the mission annihilation. I deployed first and took the bottom left table quarter with the 2 hills. BW’s and trucks are near each other lootas are on the hills and stormboyz are behind the closer loota squad.



He sets up in a long line across bikes and blits up front 2 rhinos in the middle flanked by the demon princes one out the far left flank and the defiler on the far right.



He fails to seize the initiative.

Turn 1 orks.

Well in all reality him going first might have been better since all rushing forward 12 in will do is open up my transports to a torrent of melta fire and monstrous creature attacks so I move my battle wagons behind the trees and the trucks zoom up towards the top side of the board the lootas shoot at the rhinos the closer squad whiffs but the further squad destroys the unpainted rhino and kill one plague marine.



CSM turn 1 Oblits move forward and prince stays right behind them Rock prince moves up behind the tress in the middle of the board both working rhinos moves around the trees one bike squad heads for the bottom of the board while the other bravely charges straight forward towards the battlewagons, defiler walks his way across the board. Plague marines shuffle through the rubble of their rhino.



Shooting sees the blits immobilize the nob’s truck at the top of the board and the defiler drops a template on the lootas and kill 4.

Well I would have liked to stop one more rhino but I guess I shouldn’t complain. This has engraved in my brain that I need to run at least 12 lootas because 8 just isn’t cutting it.

Orks turn 2

So now I can make a big push forward. ghazzy’s BW moves up a drops ghazzy on the left and the boys get out on the front and right side, nobs pile out of their truck and head towards bikes and ghazzy. The meks BW moves into the forest and the working nob truck heads flat out forward. stormboyz roll extremely low for their jet packs and only jump forward 14in towards the bikes. Finger crossed I can roll high enough to charge. Ghazzy calls his waaggh to guarantee the charge for the boyz squad and the nobs.



Shooting see the full loota squad puts one wound on the tree demon prince and the other loota squad put 2 wounds on the rock prince. BW and boys inside fail to wound the bikes. Nobs run, boys run, and ghazzy shuffles.

Assault: Nobs wipe the bikers and loose 2 before ghazzy swings and the boys kill one blit and put a wound on another, blits kill 3-4 boys and I lose one more to fearless wounds. Stormboyz fail to charge the bikes and sit and wait for the torrent of fire to come.



CSM turn 2

Both princes fly to flank the nobs and ghazzy. Bikes move to get a straight shot on the stormboys. One rhino moves up 12 next to ghazzys BW the other moves to support the bikes. Defiler keeps walking forward. Plague marines move up towards the combat with the blits and boyz



Shooting has the defiler drop another shot on the lootas which kills all but one(who passes his leadership) bikes kill 4 or 5 stormboys who go to ground.

Assaults Here come the princes ready to rip orks limb from limb the only indication from ghazzy and his squad of nobs of the princes ensuing charge is a middle finger and the comment “Only 2?” The princes kill a nob and put a wound on one, gahzzy eats the rock prince for dinner and the nobs put a wound on the tree prince who now has 2 left. The bikes charge the stormboyz and kill 5-6 the boys fail to wound and the klaw kills 1 and the powerfist drops 2 more boys the squad is wiped on fearless wounds. The plague marines charge into the fray of the blits boyz combat but fail to do much a few more boyz die and another blit eats the dust. Bikes consolidate towards the lone loota.



Orks turn3

The working nob truck drives up on top of a hill and parks next to the defiler the nobs jump out on the other side to join the fight at he bottom of the hill ghazzys battlewagon attempts to tank shock the bikes but hits the rhino(here we decided that the BW would have to ram the rhino and if It could, continue towards the bikes but it would have to wreck or destroy the rhino) it destroys the rhino and the bikes shoot off its big shoota the bikes loose 2 to the massive deffrolla.

Shooting sees the lootas whiff at the defiler.

Assaults the demon prince whiffs combat and is cut down by the nobs pk and ghazzy. The nobs only get enough to charge the blits and through sheer number of hits the blits drop and the plague marines kill one more boy which the pk answers with taking a plague marine head of his own. Nobs pile in with the reaming boys squad and Plague marines.



CSM turn 3

The plague marines whose rhino got trashed move over their rhino and head towards gahzzy and his nobs the remain bikes move towards the side of the BW and the defiler runs up to the truck

Shooting….. Melta misses the BW. Plague marines kill one nob and put a wound on ghazzy which is saved by FNP. Defiler fleets just to be safe.

Assaults….Defiler tears off the big shoota from the truck. bikes assault the bw and whiff. Plague marines take the boyz squad down to one boy and the nob. Orks whiff and stay in combat.

Orks turn 4

Gahzzy and nobs close in on plague marines. BW shifts and tank shocks bikes killing them both in another failed DoG truck stays in place in front of defiler.

Shooting Lootas again whiff on defiler.

Assaults ghazzy and nobs charge plague marines and wipe the squad while losing one more nob. The other squad of plague marines finally dies without taking any more boyz with them.



CSM turn 4 …..He concedes defeat.

It was a good game he only got the one kill point to my 8 but we talked afterwards and I told him I thought the bikes were a cool idea but 2 squads of 5 were way too much at 275 a piece. I told him that he should run 3 with 2 meltas no mark or 5 with mark of khorne since damn CSM have the endless bag of holding. They could be a pretty nasty counter charge.

I liked the nob squad but not enough to run them like I did. I may drop it to just one squad of 10. the stormboyz didn’t even have a chance to do anything so I can’t hate them yet. Also as I said before lootas are getting bumped up to 12 if not 15 since 8 just isn’t enough anymore. Anyways hoped you all enjoyed the report and hopefully ill be able to get another fight this next week.

Btw if you have any comments on the lists feel free to let me know. Also if I made any rules mistakes tell me as well my rulebook was stolen and I don’t feel like getting another one for awhile.

You definitely need to run 15 Lootas in those mobz. 8 is not enough to do anything major.

I'd take only one max Nobz mob, but put them in a battlewagon of their own.

Consider Gretchin to hold backfield objectives.

Nine lootas would have 18 shots on average with 6 hitting which should kill a rhino every turn (or seriously hack up anything AV12). Nine lootas also need to lose 3 before a morale check.

Stormboyz are awesome but IMO they are not good enough for the points they are worth unless you know your playing a CAC game. I went out and got 30 Stormboyz and never am able to use them cause they just don't have the stomping power other units have. I agree with the use of 2 BW and say that has always worked for me. 10 Nobz also I think would be a devastating force! I would put the KFF in a truck and keep it behind the 2 BW.l

Agreed with Olympia - 9 lootas is a good size for firepower for investment/necessity for the enemy to shoot at them/and breakpoint for morale check requirement reasons.

My stormboyz - at a full 20 - are usually used as a counterpunch unit, leaping over my mobz of boyz/wagons & trukks to strike at something when I don't want to shoot. An unsupported or unscreened unit of stormboyz is going to be fighting an uphill battle.
