Some friends and I would like to start playing mordheim, and I would like to start a Reiklander Mercenaries warband. However I don't like the way the Reikland models look and they are a little pricey. The empire and Bretonnia models are both a little meh in my opinion and in general they are a little too flamboyant for my tastes.

I really like the way the Warriors of Rohan look from the Lord of the rings line but I found out they are much smaller than the Mordheim line..... Any Ideas as what to use for models for my warband. I don't really care about tournament legality as I'll be playing with friends. Price isn't a huge issue as I'll only be buying up to 15 models, which I think is the max warband size for humies. Weapon configuration isn't terribly important as I could probably kit bash for what I need but I'll probably be going for either bowmen or men equipped with swords and shields.

I usually play 40k so I'm not terribly familiar with the fantasy line but as I said I did search through all of GW's site without anything jumping out as the perfect kit to use. I know some people use the empire milita or the state troops but they both kinda look stupid lol.

I would use the Empire militia sprue to make up some models.

The Empire Militia box was originally the human warband for modeheim, then got pressganged into service in the empire army. that Is by far your best bet.

Use any empire models you want, really, it's your warband.
