Just like the title says. I could very well be up that way for a few months (maybe, if it works out, for a few years) and I was wondering if there were any really good gaming places (within 50-75 miles) that run tournaments/events for 40k or that have a good club/group of players? I'd like to find some places to play and I've been super spoiled by SoCal having 1-3 RTT's a month

It has been a while since I lived up there (10 years) but maybe I can point you in a direction to start.

Still to this day my favorite. My buddies and I still make it our first stop when we make the 4 hour drive up from Iowa. They sponser the Con of the North rtt and provide huge prise support for the gaming group Terrain Specialties. I do not know what the gaming scene is like there though.

Tower Games in Minneapolis.
I hear good things about this place. I have never been there, but I am going up for a 40k tournament on nov 20th. I think Adeptus Minneapolis is running it. I can give a better report after the 20th.

I try to make the trip up for Con of the North in Febuary. It is a great tournament run by Terrain Specialties. The tables are pretty cool. One of their members was an Outrider from back in the 90's and some of the tables have terrain from Baltimore Gamesdays. (crashed DA Thunderhawk gunship) They also run some other events all weekend including epic, 54mm inquisitor, Squad based 40k , and ww2 and other mini games.

Thats all I know for sure right now. It's been 10 years since I lived up there but I make it up every febuary, and I'll know more after the rtt at Tower Games on the 20th.

Check out Tower Games. They have Friday night gameing. Universe Games has Tuesday night gaming but it is hit or miss.

Tower Games was good. Nice Rtt, 20 guys. Very nice terrain. Bunch of guys hanging out and painting too. Hope this helps ya. Next trip up for me is CotN (Con of the North) in Febuary. Best terrain ever and great rtt. Good mini convention.
