Given the allegations made about the game, it's owners and links to gold farming companies, I wouldn't touch it with a 12 foot bargepole.

Also those ridiculous adverts alluding to nekkid laydees and medieval sex are pathetic, given the game it's self is a poor man's Civ 2...

Yes it is true that there are links within the pay portion that can sucker you in. I never played civ 2. Evony is always on, you get the fun of chatting and plotting with an alliance and for me at 4 am after I get off work, it's nice to have someone to chat with in the wee hours while I click around pointlessly. As long as you have even a modicum of self control, the money aspect of it is not neccessary to play the game or even do well. I'm ranked in the top 4k and it's more about time investment than purchases. Their alluring adds from other sites (how I got there in the wee hours of the morning one time.... ) are misleading. But I have met and currently chat with several people from around the world. Someone's always on and fun to talk to anonymous people on occassion.

I tried it a while back. It was a lot of fun at first, I was building 3 towns at the same time and had a great big army and an alliance with some nice folks but then one day I just never went back and never wanted to. It just got so boring, and I think it was mostly due to the super stupid long wait times to build stuff at higher levels.

I see bewb-troll ads for that game all the time.. but when i actually saw someone playing it. Man I was so unimpressed! Even if you DID cram bewbage into every aspect of the game, it would not make it worth playing

I tried it before they got into that dumbarse "here's some tits so go play our game now kthxbai" attitude they have now. It's dull.
