I did a search of the forum with a few key words and didn't find anything, so I assume this is a new suggestion (apologies if it isn't, my search-fu may be weak).

Basically, is it possible for there for be a sticky in the 'You Make Da Call' subforums that contains the most commonly asked rules queries and their answers? I don't mean mods sweep the forums, gather up the rules and duct tape them together, as that would take forever, but something along the lines of what Warseer employs, where Dakkarites can post the rules query and its answer in such a format:

Q: Can I target Marine A with my shoota if I cannot see him?
A: No you cannot, you need line of sight in order to target a unit.

If people get sick of linking old threads in order to answer an influx of simple questions, all they need to do is post the question and answer they're getting sick of seeing there. It'd also act as an easy way of linking the appropriate ruling without having to do a forum search for the last thread you saw about it.

The one I keep seeing regards las/plas Razorbacks and whether or not they have a single weapon, or they count as two seperate weapons. If that was answered in an easily accessible sticky, not only would it be simple to find your answer, but someone that posts the question anyway has no defence when asked why he didn't check it.

Just a suggestion

Thanks,

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

It's been discussed several times in the past. We don't do it, because people largely don't bother to read stickies... and because the sticky would very quickly wind up being the size of the rulebook, and people are going to just post the question rather than search through it trying to find and answer.

If the question is a simple one to answer, it's going to be quicker and easier to just post the answer rather than go and find it in the sticky and post the link.

The same questions do come up from time to time... that's just the nature of the forum. We generally only really have a problem with that if people are posting a question that already has a thread on the same page.

Beyond that, if you're tired of answering the same old questions, then don't. That's part of the joy of having a rules forum with as much traffic as Dakka does: If you don't answer that particular thread, someone else will.
