Anyone seen the videos and trailer for the new Mortal Kombat 9 coming out? I've been waiting for them to go back to the 2D fighting plane and this seems to be an homage to the original titles that so many of us MK fans miss.

The characters and the background are now in full 3D but the fighting plane is back to it's 2D roots. From what I can tell, they also brought back the generic Down + HP = Uppercut, etc etc, which I'm glad for, I really didn't like the fighting style/form they went with for the most recent titles. It felt to much like Tekken or Dead or Alive or something like that. Don't get me wrong, I love those fighting games too, but they just aren't Mortal Kombat.
