Stirland River Patrol using the Reiklander's rules:

Captain
- sword, hammer, bow

Champion
- double-handed sword, bow

Champion
- 2 swords, bow

Youngblood
- mace, bow

Youngblood
- bow, extra dagger

Swordsmen (2)
- sword, bow

Marksman
- longbow

Marksman
- longbow

Marksman
- longbow

Total: 493 gold crowns
Warband Rating:50 + 36 = 86

I've never played or even watched a game of mordheim but am really, really wanting to give it a go. This is my first properly thought out warband roster and came about through a mixture of a half built warband and reading some threads on reiklanders. Kinda am going for a fast moving group with a couple of heavy hitters backed up by the archers.

I limk ethe iodea of being able to move my arhers around haressing the enemy with arrows; as my champions and swordsmen move up the table hiding behind terrain until the are able to pounce on the enemy, if my archers havent removed the threat by then of course

C&C most welcome

You could drop the bows on the swordsmen and youngbloods as their not as effective with them as the marksmen or captain/champions.

The double handed sword for fluff is fine but doen't do as well as a club and dagger combo, so if you dropped it and the bows mentioned above you can kit out all the models with 1 mace.

I ran a list with the following:

Captain
mace, mace, bow

Champions
1 with mace, mace, bow
1 with mace, dagger, bow

Young bloods
both mace, dagger

4 marksmen
mace, dagger, bow

3 swordsmen,
sword, dagger.

12 members, 4 dedicated snipers, 3 who can move forward and shoot or sit back if facing a tough warband, lots of melee guards for the archers (Captain, champions and swordsmen)

I see where you coming form but if I were to keep the bows on the youngbloods and they were to gain an extra BS skill that puts them on par with most other gangs archers and they have access to a lot of skill tables where a henchmen with TLGT only has 2 skill tables.

Why do you need to buy the bows now though? if they get a BS increase then buy the bow, until then your gang begins well setup wiht most guys having the equipment they need.

I went down the route of buying longbows and passig the bows off to my swordsmen, youngbloods and also to newer marksmen until i got crossbows for some.
