Here is something i am working on, first time scratch building, using green stuff etc. Any comments, critiques or tips are appreciated



Sorry about the poor photo quality.

I started with a trailer light cord plug.


I then added an ork, some wires for his head, a biker dash, skull topped levers, plasticard, sprue , spear heads, and a piece of spray bomb lid for the screen at the back.




I built a scorcha out of plasticard, tubing and some other bits. (WIP)


I still have to add a heavy shoota( a gatling gun maybe with a ccw on it), lots of armor and rivets, skull shaped armor on the front, the engine and exhaust, bosspole, hydraulics and hoses.

I built a rokkit launcha out of an electrical connector, plastic card, wartruck parts, and green stuff.

Here is the progress so far

Looks cool, my concern is the stance is pretty wide. You may wanna scale it back so it can fit on a 60mm base.

Hell, the body looks like it might be close to 60 mm. Though you did a great job, I really dig your Super Def Dread!

yeah its 100 mm foot to foot...

I was never planning on making this thing playable, to be honest i didn't really know what i was making till it started coming together. The person i used to play with moved over an hour away so we gave up years ago, the rest of my friends enjoy playing sports and watching sports on tv... Trying to get my wife to assemble and paint the space marines from black reach hoping that will get her interested... first color she suggested was pink... I almost cried.

Progress has been made:

As you can see, I will never be able to play with this thing, it is just too big...

CCW made from trukk parts, plasticard and some other bits


Bosspole made from plasticard, a paintbrush handle, modeling chain, and some fantasy skulls/head

Engine made from various bits, gears from old vcrs, green stuff, biker and trukk bits


So I have a ton of small details to add, rivets etc, but other than that this thing is built
Just wondering what you guys think...

Looks a lot better with more gubbinz added, I'm thinking of scratch building something similar to the IG sentinel cab as a basis for my next deff dread or even more killer cans as they're far more shooty!

as for fielding it there are the FW mekka dread or the mega dread try looking up those rules

Sounds like you should introduce her to the Pretty Marines.

My orks wouldn't want to get any pink blood on them though, that's just weird

New pics, base coated and some other parts painted, playing around and experimenting with colors and technique right now
