I couldn't find anything in the rulebook as to what Raging Fire actually does, only effects that place Raging Fire tokens on a model. Does anyone know what actually happens to a ship with Raging Fire tokens on it? My group simply played it that you suffer one HP of damage every turn until the Raging Fire is put out.

Similarly, Deployment. How do you deploy? Simply steam on from table edge turn 1?

Thanks.

Raging Fire - Roll a d6 when the model is next activated but after it moves. 1-3 Repaired and token removed. 4-6 you lose 1 AP (Attack Point - Not AD) and the token stays.

- This is listed on the critical chart in the last right hand box or pg63, top table, bottom right cell

Deployment - Looks like they left this out of the book. I just checked through their book and can't find their definition of Deployment Zones (p29), but it stipulates that terrain is set out on each side according to who's deployment zone is in that quarter, so it probably is the length of one side (Undetermined number of inches in). Usually we use 8" in from the edge and 4" from the side, that is on our standard 4'X4' board.

Hope this helps.

That does indeed help. I do like the lengths they've gone to include diagrams and charts in the rulebook, but it's clearly written by people who have 'already done this sort of thing before' and super basic stuff isn't explicated enough or assumed to be known, in my opinion.

We tried using a 6" deployment zone along the long table edge last night with all models down before start, akin to 40k or Warmachine, and it worked "okay". Meaning, there was definitely some issues with models being close enough for capital ships to start crushing frigates and carriers from the get-go, even with RB4 or hitting on 5s.

My Britannian fleet carrier actually one-shot a cruiser on its first activation with a forward torpedo salvo.

THanks for your responses.

Try doing 5' by 5' I like that size a lot better than 4 x 4. Especially for larger games.
