Hey whats up guys. Just thought I would share with you guys two games I play while I paint. They are web browser games that are free to play and only require flash. They are actually a lot of fun and require very little interaction, just planning, strategizing, and monitoring which is what makes them so excellent for someone who spends a lot of time working on their minis.

The first one is called Ogame. It's a game based on a futuristic human civilization, you colonize planets, mine its resources, research technologies, build planetary defenses, and build ships. You can attack other players planets or transport your resources between solar systems and even galaxies. Here are a few pictures of the game to give you an idea of what it is like.

The second is called Tanoth Online. You are basically an adventurer or hero, you do quests for rewards, find or buy armor and weapons, explore dungeons, and battle other players. It's much easier for you to check it out rather than have me explain the game, but here is a screen shot to give you an idea.

Use The Emperors will as your torch, with it Destroy the Shadows.

Sins of a Solar Empire is amazing. Probably the coolest feature is the ability to center your camera on ANY unit and literally zoom from a view of the galaxy all the way down to an individual fights using nothing but the mouse scroll wheel. Its very very cool. Complaints are that the AI is really bland, and that online play is filled with nothing but WAAC folks using cheesedick stuff like rushing your colony with 5982405820483098320482039480213948 scouts.

You can also turn off the HUD and record your own pew pew lazur battles. Great for stoners.

Galactic Civilizations is cool too since you can win more ways than just sheer military force. Master of Orion 2 is a classic that can always be played for chuckles if nothing else.

I have a copy of sins of a solar empire around somewhere...

My fondest memory of that game is when after defeating the majority of the AI players and massing up a sizeable fleet… taking out the pirate rock.

The amount of light frigate spam is annoying though

I don't know if I could paint while playing a game though. Watching a movie yes, gameing no.

Someone mentioned Sins of a Solar Empire ergo this the best thread on the site.

Seriously that's an excellent game through and through

"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"
