Random question for you all. If there is an ezine called (for instance) the Thanquol Press (Thanquol being an unregistered trademark I believe), would it be wise to advertise in it any new releases of models that happen to look skaven like and could be used in skaven armies, but are made by Privateer Press (for example)? I.e. you are not passing them off as "Skaven" models (as that is a registered trademark), simply making people aware they exist.

Privateer Press would be the ones making money as a result of the advertising.

For those who don't know an ezine is an online magazine (in this case it would be entirely free).

It would be wisest to consult your local copyright or trademark office website for the information concerning the proper care and handling of other people's trademarks. Beyond that, I would trust the paid opinion of a trained lawyer in my own jurisdiction much more than I'd trust any amateur opinion given freely on a message board.

Good luck!

Look around on GW's website. They have some massive pdf files containing info on using GW's IP.

Bottom line, yes - it is okay. You can say "these would be ideal to use in a GW Skaven army".

Just don't try to claim that they are skaven or that they are produced by GW. There's a disclaimer to add to the end (you can get it off the GW site) which reminds everyone what names are their trademarks/copyrights.
