Well i thought I should upload these while I remember. I always wanted a warhound, until i found out the cost from Forgeworld. Seeing as I don't have a spare £300 to splash out on the resin gear I had given up until i found plans online to build a titan from plasticard. The plans are actually quite good, not the most detailed, but the overall shape and proportions look pretty good. this should show the work so far

First, one of the legs. purely made out of plasticard at 40/1000 with a 10/1000 sheet for detailing, and 4mm tubes and 2.5mm rods to make the pistons



other leg is a bit further on



the body, same stuff used to make the feet was used here



the head, again 40/1000 plasticard, 3rd version, just had trouble getting the angles right



and finally wip of the weapons. luckily a friend who has way too much money went on a spending spree so he has spare plastic vulcan mega bolters from plastic shadowsword sets. 2 of them spare.... well that's the vulcan weapons sorted :p the plasma blastgun is made with more plasticard, and to get the ribbed coils down the side i found some ribbon cables that were cut down to size and wrapped around the main barrel



i have also started magnetising it to get it to all interconnect, a friend tried some 6mm neodynium magnets for a carnifex but couldn't get on with them so they have been donated to the project. there will be magnetic joints for each weapon, the waist, each hip. so far....

still need to do a lot more detailing, puttying in gaps, more weapons, finish the legs, add a million rivets and loads of pistons but for now it looks good, and has cost me around £20 so severely within budget :p

I made a mock up of a warhound out of card board, it was a bit shoddy though :(

I really like yours! A tip for rivets which I got of sersi's BT thread was drill v. Small holes then glue in beads into the holes

i actually have a leather punch with different diameter punch makers on a spindle, i use the smallest ones and 10/1000 (0.25mm i think) plasticard. the bead idea sounds good for making more rounded rivets though

and if i can work out how to i can link tothe plans i used, it's a pdf and reccomends cardboard but i wanted durability so went straight ahead with plasticard. my first real build using the stuff, had to learn a lot on the way
