Hello children of Dakka, and welcome to the reign of the rats.

As I have started a skaven army with the IOB set, and now added to it with added cannons, ninjas, and more warm scampering bodies and begun a blog for my beastmen (kind of though not many have looked at it yet) I thought I should put up my skaven as well.
First things first, the lore of Clan cozen (AKA the fluff I made up):

It all started with a single rat, a no name clanrat or perhaps even slave from the city of pillars, a blonde rat born to the bottom who learned to steal and cheat to survive like all skaven, excelling exceptionally at the first, during one of the greater attacks by the dwarves, one where they managed to break in to a breeding pit, he made his escape from the stifling hierarcy, with a few of the females, heading north to establish a hold under the black mountains, here they worked and bred and when the young were old enough began forcing them to work instead, as they expanded, stealing from nearby settlements, passing caravens and battlesites left over from beastmen raids in the area, they began to become fearfull of other clans moving in and taking away what they had gained, so the worked out a devious plan, taking the sneakiest of them along with him, the great father-leader of the clan went all the way to skavenblight, the managed to snatch away one of the great warlock engineers, leaving one of their own behind and blowing up his lab in order to hide their theft, though the plan almost went horribly wrong they were aided by an assasin, who saw potential in these bold and stealthy theives, and much more potential of gain for himself and decided to help them, passing jobs from clan eshin to them and establishing them as a satalite to the great stealth clan, and training them in the stealty and deadly arts of eshin, for a hearty share of the gains and breeding rights for himself of course. Getting back to the warlock engineer, by the time he came to he was back in the heart of the clan's lair-lair, and this was wear they made their demands, that he create for them the great death-death machines that clan skryre sells to the clans and to train their own in their use, but to him it sounded like an escape from the deadly hierarchy of clan skryre and free reighn to experiment, so he immediately demanded resources and got to work, although it turns out he didn't escape the deadlyness of heirarchichal politics as much as he had hopesd as any time a student gets a proper level of knowlage to challenge him they immediately begin assasination attempts.

And that's the story of clan cozen up to this point, now for the only part people actually look at, PICTURES!

So to start, the great leader and father of the clan Littermaster Skrai himself!

Here we are, the great warlord of Clan Cozen, the kidnapper the theif, raised high above his troops on a magnificent war litter, gaurded by two specially trained gutter runners, and held aloft by an honor guard of slaves. He was custom made by me myself, using two metal gutter runners, three slave looking clanrats, a platform from a beastmen chariot and a warlord.

And next, the BSB which is a rotating dutie that rotates each time one is killed, or at the least I havn't thought of a good name for a skaven BSB yet.

I did quite a bit of work on him, the banner strips are inscribed with svaen runes, his brazer burns the sickly green of warpfire, his cleaver is... well it has some sort of skaven nastyness on it that's for sure, his armor a brilliant gold to stand above the bronze of the rest of my army and take note of how his halberd has been painted as a power weapon.

And of course, the warlock engineer, Krichit, the as of yet lacking a nickname/title (though after recent events, a miscast death and two wlc explosion, in the same turn, a turn after two misfires caused random useless shots, I'm thinking something along the lines of krichit the explosive.)

The warlock engineer from the IOB has to be the best looking one right now. I like the idea of the brainey skaven having white fur like Ikit and the greyseers, so I painted him with that, the heaadpiece is meant to look like warlord optics, with warpstone lenses, and warpstone armor, since the model is armored and this is the only type he could wear.

The assassin!... I don't have one yet, moving on.

A warlightning cannon, deadly tool of blowing itsself up.

I honestly don't think I've done too much exceptional with it but it looks pretty good.

For the colors on the bulk of my army I've basically been using every color of paint I have for fabric, blonde(yellow) fur, bronze armor, a red wash over fleshtone for tails and boltgun for hand weapons, bronze for spears.

A few clanrats that I've painted with a more interesting pattern then usual.

Gotta break up the tedium of painting rats now and then.

And finally just a view of a few of the typical rats of my army, with the clan glyph painted on their shields (picked form the skaven runes page.)

And so that's about how my army is looking so far, any comments are welcome... that's all I can think to say.

Edited PS. Oh and if you want to see a couple more pics with different angles, just follow the picture links to my dakka gallery.

Yeah, they've been going pretty well, especially on the warlocks armor. Not too tricky to do either just base with dark angels start mixing scorpion into it and doing broad bands then thinner and thinner, and for the last highlight or two mix in white instead of the scorpion.

Good use of yellow. I thought about yellow for my skaven, but went with blue/grey for my clan colour and now kind of regretting it.

EDIT - Tried looking for your beastmen blog. Have you got a link for it?

Thank you, I originally wanted to do all black or white skaven, but after reading the army book realized that that wouldn't quite work, so I decided to go blonde, the mix of fairly bright colors with washes to darken them works quite well I think.

And as for the beastmen blog It's here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/332845.page
