Saturday, GW Berlin-Spandau. Showdown between Slaneeshi CSM and Canis Space Wolves.

CSM:

2x winged DP w/ lash
GD
10 Termies w/ combi-weapons, reaper autocannon
5 Termies w/ combi-weapons, reaper autocannon
FW EC Dreadnought w/ lascannon
2x 6 Noise Marines w/ doom siren, Rhino
2x 3 Obliterators

SW:

Canis
RP
Lord w/ thunder wolf, ss
10 Scouts w/ sniper rifles
5 Termies w/ thunder hammers
LRR
3 Thunder Wolves w/ thunder hammers, ss
5 Thunder Wolves
2x 10 Fenrsian Wolves
6 Long Fangs w/ lascannons (x5)

Game: annihilation
Deployment: pitched battle

SW started the game.
At the beginning, CSM had big trouble to take down the Wolf Lord and the 3 Thunder Wolves, all with storm shields. It took two rounds of shooting and cc. After that, the LRR arrived with the Termies. They took out the DP, used as speed bump. It was easy to kill the Termies by small arms fire and plasma. At last, Canis appeared with 5 Thunder Wolves. The Wolves got killed while Canis survived the attacks of both Dps (one DP already down to 1 wound). Then Canis died from small arms fire. The LRR got popped by meltas. Both Wolve packs were taken down too.

Pics explain the battle (one pic per player's turn).

At the end, CSM lost 1 Rhino, 1 NM unit, GD, both DPs, 1x 2 Obliterators, Dread (multimelta LRR), while SW lost Canis, Lord, 2x Wolves, 2x Thunderwolves, Termies, LRR. So the game ended 8 to 7 for CSM. Cheers!

Death to the false Emperor and all his followers!

What did his RP do? No nullification of powers with his staff?

I think I might have hid my TWC behind my Land Raider for a while. The real key is to charge multiple units that they cannot kill until the next combat round....

The RP was deployed with the LFs on top of the tall building.

Well, in terms of the TWCs, it appears that keeping them behind the LR would have been a good idea. If the enemy arrives in waves, then my army can easily deal with it.

Why doesn't he have any scoring units?

Canis makes the fenrisian wolves scoring no?

Interesting lists. Terminator heavy for CSM is risky, but it looks like it paid off.

Troops yes, scoring no.

I would guess that they knew they were playing annihilation or he was just having a laugh.

Yeah, it seemed that he adapted the list after we rolled for mission and deployment. But before, he announced to field TWCs and to beat me this time.
Chaos Termies with combi-plasma are always nice.
