Alright this is a game between me and a friend at the FLGS. First time using vassal, as of yet I can't find new vassal sprites for the blood angels. Biggest thing to note is the 2 Vendettas represent Stormravens. The crates are the objectives. First time using vassal and I am going off notes so may be some errors in pictures. The pictures are in order and done by player turn. Again going to need some practice with vassal.

Waaaagghhhh Thrudd (Orks)
As I Remember
3 Battlewagons Zzapp gun, 2 rokkits, 2 big shootas, grot riggers, plates, deaf rollas, paint job
Trukk red pain job
2 * 20 boyz squads with 2 rokkits and a nob Claw each
10 burnas
big mech with kff
warboss and nobz all different to allocate wnds.

Deployment: As the orks have decided to come on turn one with 2 outflanking kopta's later, I setup both scout squads. One in the forest, the other in the building on the north east corner, netting me one objective, and another with a run move.

Turn 1 Orks:
The Orks Move onto the table, keeping the burnawagon and a Boyzwagon together screening the warboss in his truck. The last battlewagon sticks to the left with it's boyz cargo aimed at the scout squad there. All vehicles moved flat out so only the rokkits in the squads could actually shoot. The unit on my right couldn't see me with a 9 NF roll, but the one on the left was just in to target my scouts. He hit with a rokkit but I made my cover save.
Objectives: BA>1 Orks>2
<<My thoughts: I know he has a death star warboss hiding behind those battlewagons in the truck with the mek shield, I need to get fire through and make those guys walk while shooting them. My ravens can bring down his wagons but power claws are no fun. He left a wagon open on the right side out of KFF range, but I think that this could be to lure me onto a side and hope for kopta outflanks, have to watch for those.>>


Turn 1 Blood Angels:
I move both my Ravens in on the left side, 12 inches keeping 2 of his wagons ,which had I think 2 rokkits a piece plus 2 boyz in them with rokkits, out of range. My speeders both moved in on the right sight flat out to threaten his armour next turn and get the cover save. Shooting my right hand scouts can't see, and my left squad cannot hurt the armour 14 of the wagon. One raven was in LOS and shot 2 missles, doing absolutly nothing.
Objectives: BA>1 Orks>2

<<Allright turn one was nothing at all except 2 missles burned, but all bets are off next turn with night fight being gone. My plan is still the same, open up the transports and shoot up the passangers, not assualting until I have weakened them, especially the nobz and burnas. I did mess up big time in setting the ravens and their CC cargo on the far left, I cannot support the one scout squad now. Hopefully my speeders can get through the field and cause some damage>>

Orks Turn 2:

Orks begin by moving everything up another 13 inches, and getting a kopta out of reserves he got choice and brought it in behind my storm ravens, targeting the libby bearing raven. His left hand boyzwagon turned only and lined up on the ravens. Shooting begins with me making my shield test. Then the burna wagon and a boyz wagon both unload 2 rokkits a piece on my speeders, all but one missing, and me making a 4+ save. Kopta hits and fails to pen my armour 12 raven. The boyzwagon on my right fires 4 rokkits and a zapp gun into my other raven, ork shooting holds out and one glance is ignored by my 5+ save. The kopta assualts hits once but fails to pen.

Objectives: BA> 1 Orks> 2

BA Turn 2:
<<Allright, I got some lucky rolls and his dice are hot and cold, but I should have started closer the angles of approach are adding distance I do not want into the equation and left me open to the kopta attack. I need to go balls out and try and end his armour's threat before I my luck runs out and his long range connects.>>

My speeders move straight at his tanks. I get my one assault squad in and I try to deepstike beside his wagon and scatter onto it, the reroll is a hit and I breath a sigh of relief. My ravens run straight at his wagon. My speeders fire wrecking the burnawagon and the other immobilized the boyzwagon which my oppenent mentioned to me I forget they were open topped. The assualt squad manages to shake the trukk with the boss in it. The snipers open up on the burna's now out in the open. They kill one ork, with the frag rocket scattering almost on top of the speeder. The orks however are still fearless so cannot be pinned. The second scouts on my left open up on the kopta. I fail to hit with any sniper rifles, but the krak rocket kills of the outflanker. My raven closest to the wagon wrecks it with a barrage from the assault cannon, and then uses POTMS to fire hurricane bolters into the boyz. The second raven opens up with bolters assualt cannon and melta on the squad, killing 5 between both vehicles. I have no assualts.

Orks 3:

He gets his last kopta in on the side he wants again chaseing my storm ravens. He brings his burna's into better flame range on the assualt squad and the warboss zooms up to close with the scouts, the boyz pile out and put themselves into poistion to go after either my speeder or my scouts. The exposed boyz run at my storm ravens and spread out to avoid templates. He decides to waaaggghhhh and I get shield of Sang. First his grot riggers fix his wagon and then 7 Flamers hit my assualt squad doing 26 hits and causing 18 wnds, I fail more then 5 saves and the squad is gone. The boyz run 2 inches. The kopta misses it's rokkit attacks and the boyz miss with theirs as well. The nobz fire 2 combi-rokkits at the closest speeder 1 hitting and getting a weapon destoryed, which is the heavy flamer. In the assualt phase his boyz hit my scouts, I kill 2 before they wipe the squad and consolodate into the ruins. The kopta hits my raven taking the assualt cannon off.

BA 3:
<<Allright, I have one scoring unit left 2 his three I need to even the odds, and with my ravens mobile and carrying nasty cargo, I should be able to do it, I still need to knock that truck though, and counter his nobz and warboss, this is getting interesting.>>

I bring my intact DC raven towards his truck along with the speeder with only the meltagun. The second speeder goes to ork frying position while my damaged raven closes on the group of boyz to my left. All my ravens spit out their cargo, except for the DC, as they would be out of charge range. The scouts left shoot the kopta dropping it with sniper rifles and a rocket. The furioso opens up on the trukk and does nothing, the storm raven is more successful causing and explosion that wnds nothing inside. The speeder is in front of the wagon, failing to do anything to it, but now is blocking it's path. The other raven hits the boyz with hurricane bolters, and a melta shot, dropping 5, while the furioso and honour guard with the libby refrain from shooting the fearless squad, I want to assualt and then slingshot with consolodation. A flamer and melta shot from the intact speeder kills 7 boyz, but the squad is at 13 so they do not break. My assaults are the honour guard and fury dread into the boyz and the other fury into the warboss. Between the blood talon and my power going off, allowing my honour guards to reroll to hit and two wnds, lightning claws rock, the boyz are wiped without causeing me a single wnd and I am running them all into the direction of the warboss melee. That melee I put 6 wnds on the warboss he makes 2 saves but the 4 wnds kill him off. The orks do nothing to the dreadnought, I got really lucky, he hit with 5 claws and couldn't kill it, with a failed moral check I overran his nobz. looking at the board he concedes turn 3. as he had 1 scoring unit left, plus some flamers and an empty wagon.

My success was some good rolling and being able to get him out of his vehicles while keeping my ravens intact, I know my list completely depends on the ravens to deliever their cargo where needed.

I appreciate your desire to share your battle.

That being said I have to say that despite the growing popularity, I am not a fan of Vassal as a batrep tool.

I find it a little too impersonal and "artificial" to be honest. Call me old fashioned (or maybe just old), but I think half the fun and appeal of a well done batrep is in seeing actual pics of people around a table, real models (with cool schemes and conversions), thematic terrain, etc.

"Pics or it didn't happen" I think should be rule number one of a good batrep...
