Your colors are really, really flat. Try using a wash on your reds and oranges. Some places look semi-shaded, but you should try highlights. A black wash on the metallics would help a lot, as would drilling your barrels.

i know for me, when i was doing some darker red base coats, putting on either a blood red highlight or a deep brown wash really pulls out the color, and adds a bit of depth (or do both if you wanna be an over achiever). Just doing little stuff like that will make your paint job look exponentially better.

EDIT: and for the gold painted sections, use brown, red and the same gold you used before as a wash. It will make the gold look a bit dirty and gritty, KABOOM it looks awesome.
