For those 40K gamers that live on the northern or northwestern side of KC, or that drive in from St. Joseph, MO or Leavenworth/Lansing, KS...

Basement Games and Hobbies in the Zona Rosa shopping Center (near Barnes and Noble and Dick's Sporting Goods) has gaming tables available and runs 40K leagues and tournaments. Most Saturdays there is some type of 2 or three game tournament (varies from 1000-3000 points) that starts at either 4 or 5 PM and runs till 11 PM. You can also get pickup games on Saturdays before the tournaments. The store is fairly new and the players run the gamut from new to very experienced. Not as large a group as frequent Tabletop or 31st Century but the store location is much more convenient for folks that live north and northwest of KC.

Armies may be unpainted (about half of them are from what I have seen)

The store posts tournament and other event info on its Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1423728597#!/pages/The-Basement-Games-and-Hobbies/130240173653413

Address (it's directly across the street from Barnes and Noble on the opposite side from Dick's):

8610 NW Prairie View Rd
Kansas City, MO, 64153

Phone: 816-442-7520

Website: see Facebook link above.

The storefront is small and easy to overlook but it has plenty of room in the back. Roughly five gaming tables...IIRC.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

Anywhere worth being

I can vouch for these guys. Their tournaments are well run and a lot of fun, and they have plenty of tables and some great terrain. If I didn't live in Lawrence, I'd frequent this store.

I play at The Basement in zone rosa whenever I can. They are a good crowd and very flexible. A nice establishment. I am actually trying to get a game in tomorrow if anyone is interested.
