Greetings fellow wargamers,
into wargaming since 1986, with ups and downs. Love to model and converts plastic minis. Doing my best making scenery that looks good.
Love Starship Troopers ruleset, dislike 40K rules.
cheers

A wargamer should play for fun, not for winning. It's more fun losing a challenging game than to win one too easily.

Hi Element206
What I dislike about the 40K ruleset is the ; "you go first and blast half my army away while I wait here passively, then I go second and try to salvage what's left of my army".
There is no interaction like overwatch or reaction in this game. Also, with the move-shoot-assault phases, every unit can potentially get 3 actions per turn, this is way too much.
I've played several editions of 40K over the years and this problem (in my opinion) has never been solved.
Then, I played Starship Troopers and this game system ROCKS!! Also played AT-43 and the alternate activation system is very good.
Unfortunately, both systems imploded and vanished...
I also dislke the scifi-gothic combination, so I only collect armies that do not show this too much; Tyranids, Orks and IG amongst others.
But on the positive side, I like the game support GW is offering and like the way they keep improving their figs and replacing them with plastic kits. I luuuuuuuv plastic; easy to work with, conversion friendly and it can withstand the onslaught of my young kids without paint chipping off or bits flying in all directions.
greetings
Morkai
