Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Ummm...somewhere...

Hey everyone, welcome to my very first battle report!
Had a 3 way free for all today, and all I can say it was very interesting, we didn’t have much time at all so we played 750 points each. The game was set out up on a 5x4 table with quite a decent amount of cover (a lot of elder looking buildings and city ruins). The BA player set up along the middle of a one table edge with an 18” semi circle deployment area and the Eldar player and I (DE) set of in the opposite corners with an 18” deployment zone from the corners. We had 4 objectives (1 in each deployment zone and 1 in the centre). We started the game rules with the death of HQ’s becoming objectives but that was kind of forgotten by the end of the game…. Anyway without further ado I shall get on with it! (Sorry for no pictures, lacking any sort of picture taking device at the time)
My list was kind of strange, objectives was only decided just before the start of the game (originally annihilation so I wasn’t really thinking about the troop side of things…) but mainly it was a ‘just for fun’ list that I wanted to use
HQ-
Asdrubael Vect
- Dias of destruction with flickerfield
Elites-
9x Incubi (Vects retinue)
Troops-
5 kabalite warriors
- Shredder
5 Kabalite warriors
-Shredder
Notes: This list was completely experimental and was made just for the hell of it (face)
The BA player had 2 tactical squads with missile launchers and flamers (one was mounted in a rhino), Gabriel Seth (proxied as a BA captain) with a squad of sternguard, and a Baal predator with a flamestorm canon and heavy flamer sponsons.
The Eldar player had a squad of DA with and Exarch (I think it had two SC) and blade storm (also with an attached Farseer with guide and mind war), 2 squads of 5 guardian jetbikes, 5 pathfinders and a fire prism with holo fields or whatever they’re called.

Now to start with the actual report:
The blood angel patrol ran through the city ruins like it had for the past week, searching for remote survivors of the Eldar massacre. Newly promoted battle brothers were accompanied by Captain Basilius Alaricus and his squad of personal veterans. The blood angel patrol took its usual route through the narrow streets when the companies scouts reported in with signs of activity towards the centre of the city. Later reports confirmed sightings of the final Eldar remnants moving towards the town centre. With all reserves at the temporary HQ the Captain chose to close in and engage, and annihilate, the pathetic Xeno’s heretics.
The Farseer rose from his crouch, breathing in heavily. All could see the extreme energy flowing through his eyes. They were coming. The battle wearied members of his enclave rose with him, all understanding this was likely the last time they would fight as flesh beings. The silent engines of the fire prism lit up, energy flicking from it’s engines. Jet bikes rose into the air like scepters. The sound of ammo being armed clacked from the wordless Dire Avengers. The Farseer nodded to the path-finders who melted into the shadows. They all had their objective. They must send the energy from the spirit stones back to the craft world, or else all would have been for nothing. The enclave silently moved forward.
A fracture in reality split open. Dark energy whipped around the surroundings as 10 silent beings moved out of the rip, their footsteps not even making a sound as they floated over the rubble of the destroyed city. Huge lightning cracks appeared from the rip and a ghost like ship, silent as the night air flew out at impossible speeds. Behind the 10 beings the rip closed with silent whip. They marched forward, all smiling behind their crooked helms. What fun they would have with their master on the loose.

Deployment
The BA player won the roll off but I managed to seize the Initiative on a 4+ (Good ol vect ). I chose to go first, so I deployed Vect and his Dias squad at the very edge of my deployment zone, looking to zoom straight up the side of board to face the Blood angels. I put one squad of warriors on top of my adjective and sent the other one off to a building to start chipping away at the Eldar. The BA player decided to spread out his forces, ready to march into cover on their first turn, the Eldar player put his fire prism in the corner of his deployment zone and infiltrated his pathfinders onto his objective.
Turn 1
DE: I turbo boosted the Dias 24” up the side of the board, stopping right next to a building. On the opposite side was Seth and his squad of sternguard. I moved my second warrior squad into a building and left the other one to guard the adjective
BA: Moved his tactical squad with the rhino behind cover but closer to the Eldar player, He moved his other tactical squad forward into a ruin he backed his Baal predator away in hope of getting out of range of the Dias. As did Seth and his squad.
Eldar: Moved one squad of jet bikes towards centre objective and the other towards mine. Dire avengers moved up with Farseer. The Farseer casted guide on the Pathfinders, and they followed to shoot the tactical squad in the ruins but failed to wound any. The fire prism moved to the right slightly to gain LOS to the dias, and fired its prism shot but it failed to penetrate the armor 13.
Turn 2
DE: I again moved the second warrior squad further into cover to get within rapidfire range of the jetbike squad. The Dias moved 12 inches over the building and unloaded vect and his squad, who then followed to run 5” towards seth and his sternguard. The warrior squad shot everything they had at the jetbike squad but failed to kill a second model, really unlucky. The Dias had much better luck which shot a DL into the front of the Baal predator which penetrated and exploded it! The shrapnel of the explosion managed to down 1 marine in the nearby cover. Vect and the Incubi charged into seth and his squad. Vect followed to wound seth and kill all five sternguard by himself. Seth managed to kill 2 incubi before he his power armor was split open by the klaives, blood and gore saturated vect and his squad and smiled at the feeling of getting feel no pain
BA: The battle brothers looked on in anguish as their commander was viciously ripped apart by these unknown ghosts. Realizing their chances of succeeding to exterminate both of these Xeno’s threats, the new battle brothers retired the battle field, waiting for reinforcements before moving to destroy the survivors. They would avenge the death of their captain with ferocity like that never seen before. Essentially the BA play thought he wouldn’t of been able to win so he gave up to let me and the Eldar player to face off. We both thought it was a stupid idea but it was his decision.
Eldar: The Eldar moved one jet bike squad towards the BA’s objective and his other within my warrior squad in cover. His Farseer attempted to cast doom on the pathfinders but suffered perils, though I was negated dude to the effects of the ghosthelm. The path finder’s fired and managed to kill one Incubi. The fire prism fired at vect and his squad but completely scattered off target. The second guardian jet bike squad fired into my warrior squad in cover and completely destroyed it. At this point it was table or lose.
Turn 3
DE: The Dias moved forward and picked up vect and his squad. The warrior squad sitting on the adjective shot their splinter rifles into the guardian jetbikes and down two with some unlucky rolling by the Eldar player, though they do pass their morale check. The Dias then fires off a dark lance shot at the fire prism and managed to stun it.
Eldar: The combined fire power the guided pathfinders and the remaining 3 guardian jetbikes wiped off my other warrior squad, leaving me with no troops. Time to table and or be tabled.
Turn 4
DE: The Dias moved forward and unloaded vect and his squad within running and assaulting distance of the path finders. The Dias shot one final DL at the Fire prism which blew off the prism turret. Vect and his squad ran and assaulted into the pathfinder. Vect wiped out the squad before his Incubi even had the chance to bloody their klaives. , they consolidated towards the DA squad and the Farseer.
Eldar: The Eldar realize that that the battle isn’t over and in so starts to do risky moves. The weaponless fire prism turbo boosts and rams the Dias, but the Dias swiftly glides out of the way. Both guardian jetbike squads move to take the objevitce in my deployment zone and the BA players deployment zone. The Farseer casts guide on the dire avenger squad and casts mind war against vect, but fails to inflict any wounds. The dire avengers then blade storm Vect and his Incubi, all 40 shots hitting with guide, but only 20 wounding. I manage to save 4 of them on Vects shadow field, not one shorting out the protective suit. 4 incubi die under the weight of wounds leaving vect and 3 Incubi.
Turn 5
DE: I move the dias forward 12 inches and turned it getting ready to rid the fire prism once and for all, shooting a dark lance into the back armor which penetrated it and wrecked it. Vect used his obsidian orbs at the DA squad, which scatter yet becomes a direct his thanks to Vects bs of 8 it kills 5, the squad passes their morale and holds their position. They then charge into it, Vect wiping out the final DA and wounding the Farseer, the Incubi are left and turn the lone Farseer a pile of gore. They consolidate back to the objective, just for the hell of it.
Eldar: The Eldar player skips his turn hoping the game ends now.
The BA player rolls and the game continues to turn 6
Turn 6
DE: The game is pretty much all based on luck now. The Dias turns around and fires all 3 dark lances at the guardian jetbike squad sitting behind cover on my objective. All 3 wound but only 1 fails it’s armor save, which is enough to cause a moral check and the guardians fall back off the table. Vect and his squad move and rune and try to spread out to contest both the eldar and middle objective if need be
Eldar Skips turn
The BA player rolls for turn 7 and the game continues.
Turn 7
DE: With my final desperate move to win, the Dias turbo boosts and gets just in range of tank shocking the guardian jetbikes, who then pass their Morale test. Vect and his squad move as far out as possible, only just contesting both objectives if the Eldar player decides to move his other jetbikes to the other objectives.
THE GAME ENDS
DRAW (But only just) Gosh the dice Gods Look Kindly on me at times.

Played a game just like this with the exact same forces. BA won that one handily (that was me!). In FFAs the army that plays least aggressive usually wins. Guard beat face in FFA.

Anyway, nice report.

We're watching you... scum.
