This was both my first attempt as drybrush and at making a base stand out. Please feel free to comment and criticize cause I need all the help I can get!!!! Thanks in advance!!! Sorry if the photos are bad, but im working on that too!!! Basically my whole 40k life is a WIP lol!

The number one tip for any new modeller is to thin your paints, and you are no exception.

is it best to thin with water or do you suggest something else? And thanks for the advice!!

Just water should be fine. You'll have to do a fair bit of experimentation before you find the perfect consistancy, but after enough practice, it should become second nature.

Thanks for the advie, Fafnir. I will try it on my old Urien model that I still haven painted. I'll use him to practice on to get it right for all my new ones, after all, he is a Haemonculus, so he should enjoy it lol

Also matt varnish it, you have a very glossy model there.

Though that may be personal taste.

The gloss is a personal taste, I just feel that Drazhar especially, the ultimate Incubi, would keep his armor looking its best, that I and I just really feel that the Necron Abyss/Enchanted Blue mix I have on him looks alot better with the gloss.
