Here we go. As I mentioned in another forum, this is part of my Valhalla/Vostroyan conversion. The Manticore is designed to be modular so I can swap out the rockets for whatever guns I need in the back to convert it to a Hydra, Griffon, Medusa, Collussus, etc. Here we go.

Thanks!

The Manticore is a basic Chimera with the crew compartment left open. I glued some screen mesh from a screen door repair kit in the bay to make it look more finished and to approximate deck-plate.

The launcher consists of the rockets from a Warhammer Empire Helstorm rocket launcher, mounted on top of a plasticard box with more screen mesh glued to it, along with a vox caster on it to make it look like controls.

Eventually, I am going to mount a rare earth magnet in the crew compartment and place magnets or pennies under each weapon system, so the weapons can pivot as well as be swappable (thinking of using Armourcast guns for the various mortar options).

The test trooper uses the body from a Wargames Factory Shock Trooper with a Pig Iron Kolony Militia winter headgear set. The equipment pack is standard IG Cadian. The special weapon is from the Shock Trooper kit, although I modded it some to make it look more IG-ey and less dorky looking (I find that the WF shock Trooper weapons are all kinda bad).

Overall, I like how he came out. I painted the trooper and the Chimera with a mix of Vallejo Russian Uniform and Green-Grey. Since they don't make spray paints, I ordered a spray paint that I think will approximate the color I have here, once it's been dipped. Also waiting on E-bay for more lasguns so I can make the individual troopers.

I will give them winter bases and will probably dust the hems of the greatcoats with Mig Productions Ash White pigment before sealing them with matte varnish.

More as I make progress.

Sweet manticore. I think the trooper could be improved by drilling a hole in the barrel to make it look more like a barrel.

I like the manticore conversion a lot. And I'm not sure what caused the red splatters on the front of the tracks, but I bet it was something awesome.
