I just got interested in Warhammer 40,000 in December and have chosen to play Dark Eldar. I only own ten wyches and an archon and am occupying myself with trying to paint them--much frustration and swearing has ensued. Before buying more models and paint (you wouldn't believe how much I've wasted) I want to make an army list so I know what I absolutely need. Fortunately, I'm not alone--my friends are also taking up Warhammer 40k. So far I know two are Orks, one is Tau, one is Eldar, one is also Dark Eldar, and one hasn't decided. I'm going to try to build an army that is good at taking on all of them (we plan to have lots of 3+ player battles), although I'll be fighting Orks and Eldar the most.

Anyway, you'll probably be seeing a lot of me around here as I ask numerous questions and generally bug people with my ignorance, then less of me as I get a grip on things, then more of me again as I become a good player and can participate in more complex discussions.

That a good idea. I didnt make an army list for my BA's before I started, an I wish I would have....gives you direction. I wish you the best on your painting endeavor though. Search this site for tips on painting, im sure you'll find some resourceful articles/people in here. Welcome to the Dak!

Yeah, they looked pretty sweet to me, too, until I ruined them with paint

If you would use some washes (click on my gallery image) It creates all kinds of details. The wash I use is Devlan Mud or as my gaming group calll it "liquid done".

So I've heard. I'm going to pick up some more supplies today.
