Just wondering if any fellow dakka-ites have picked up this little gem of a game. It's easily a contender for my personal GOTY. I love games that are ostensibly simple but have layers and layers of depth wrapped in a addicting core gameplay mechanic. The Puzzle Quests would be similar games, and another one of my faves.

Anyway if you don't have this game already and like good games, you need to buy this. Simple as pie.

Oh yeah almost forgot: obligatory "Capitalism Ho!"

"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

Got it during the Steam Sale

I suck at it though. also its kinda twisted with the whole "You may be in purgatoryyyyyyyy!"

Fun though, dont dungeon crawl for a while in the beginning (if you do, Louis better be armed to the teeth), buy low; sell high; take a piece of the pie

I think what's more twisted is when you hoard food during a bad harvest and sell it to poor little girls at 300% the base price. Grimdark much?

The game is pretty difficult at times, mostly since there's isn't a manual of some sort. The Recettear wiki reveals some of the nuances behind the mechanics which makes planning ahead a whole lot easier.
