Greetings Dakkaites (or a version of something similar)

I've been lurking here since July last year and have finally gathered up the courage to finally post on this magnificent site.

A quick tale about my self would be next.

28 years old, I currently live in Auckland New Zealand, which for those who don't know is possibly the furthest part away from anywhere you can get by plane.
Ive been on and off with models since about 1991 when I was gifted my very own rogue trader Ultramarines, unfortunately they did not survive the winter of 1992 and because glue was hard to come by they disappeared into the ether all together.

I've always been a Marine player/painter, with my last real game of 40k being my last year of high school in 1999. Since then I've decided to let the competitive streak in me simmer and have been on and off painting when the mood hits me.

Old army's I've painted have been
Dark Angels (my largest collection thus far)
Ultramarines (collected while on deployment in Bosnia)
Tau (because the battle suits were simply awesome)
Eldar (wanted to try my hand as fiddly little models)
And finally Gray Nights (a "what if" force taken from the Grey Knights chapter, I started collecting this army as the Grey Knight's Terminators are one of my all time favorite looking models)

Why am I here?

Games workshop emailed me asking me to save some money and spend it all on the new Grey Knights due to come out around April this year and I'm looking to you as motivation to finish my current force, I hope to start a blog here and I urge you to help me, help my models and help me become a better painter.
