Storm Trooper with Maglight

Customize a IG with a SM scout heavy bolter. Added a open flap to Officer's holster.
Too lazy to paint the box set flag, so I used a paper graphic instead. Scorched the edges with a match,
and I cut the end into tatters. Put in a few bullet holes for good measure.

Superb work all-around!
If I may ask, how did you get the checks and dags on the Nobs to look so clean and have the squares straight? I'm having issues with my current technique and would like to hear your input on the matter.

Thanks. I paint the area with a white base , then I use a permanent Sharpie with very fine tip to make out a grid for the checkers.
Makes it a lot easier to get the squares even!
I have 7 orks done, just need to take more pix. I'm rotating my painting between IG, Orks, and Ultramarines.

very nice detail on the command squad. they simply scream for attention on the battle field! (which may not be a good thing for a t3 5+ save unit!)
