Well, I thought I'd shamelessly pimp my Army profile, which I have just about ready.

Here are some of my better works from it. Some have been posted previously.

Did I mention there are way more pics in my Army profile? Keep in mind these pictures span from "my first painted models" to "stuff I finished yesterday" so the painting skill really runs the gamut as I learned how to paint up my current (average) skill level.

Is that text on the drop pod and rhino doors a printed paper strip? Can you let us in how you did it so we can do this too.

For the Rhino, all of the text was DIY transfers printer on a inkjet printer. You can read more here, and I got my paper here.

For some of the drop pod (like the doors) I printed out rub-on transfer paper (instructions here, materials here) but I don't recommend this technique. It's a hassle to print (after you print a sheet, you need to carefully place it on a same-size film without bubbling), and you get better control over the inkjet waterslide decals, and the film on the rub-on transfers tends to look frosted on darker paint. It looks good on white & metal, if it's light, though.

I should probably have mentioned in that previous post - when I explain transfers, and say I don't recommend it and why - why it was I even used them. This was the first model I ever tried them on, as an experiment, and have since gone back to using the waterslide method as it's easier and more reliable. It looks OK on the boltgun metal, but not on everything, and the initial outlay for either method is similar, cashwise: go with the waterslide.

Awesome stuff. I love seeing UM done justice. As much flak as they catch, they've got a very appealing scheme which, sadly, is all too frequently butchered. The Blood Ravens are a nice change of pace with the insane influx of BA stuff. I really dig the more muted red and bone accents. The detailing on both armies, from the Rhino interior to the script to the ghillie suits is superb.
