Hi all. I'm a relative newbie to the Warhammer scene. I got bought some Space Marines when I was about 13 (9 years ago) and recently moved in to a house with a guy who got me back into it. I decided to ditch the SM and have moved onto Orkz. I decided to start small (too see how it goes with the painting if i'm any good basically) and purchased 4 Boyz. So far it's gone well and I plan to expand.

Just thought I would get myself known on here and maybe pick up a few tips as you guys seem to all know a great deal more than me. Anyone got any tips on how to grow? I can post some pic's of my abilities later tonight.

Expanding Orks? What I do when I start a new army is I buy the codex and pick out the models that look the coolest. They may not be the best models, but it is more fun that way

Lol that does sound more fun. I was thinking of starting with a Warboss w/ Big Choppa and getting some Stormboyz. Very limited budget being a poor student and what not

I feel your pain! But yeah it is ten times more fun, not really competitive , but really fun. You can get a AoBR (assault of black reach) Warboss of eBay for next to nothing. If you don't like the AoBR warboss looks like I know someone who put the model in boiling water and bent his arm into a less extreme pose. You should talk to him maybe, here is his blog/forum page.

I know what you mean about limited budget, that fits my description perfectly. Poorhammer 40K is the best way to put it i've seen.
Namtaey, I like your style. Ebay is my warhammer paradise, BUT recently I have found a website which is heaven for me, as it sells complete sprues for roughly 50% off!

The postage was also extremely cheap. I am a resident of Australia, and I recently ordered an Ork stompa (Which I have since given a mohawk of metal to match my warboss, who is in my gallery).
It cost me a total of 88 Australian dollars, inc. postage, completely new on the sprue. It also took only 2 weeks to get here from the USA!
Also, to compare prices, a stompa, new from GW costs 165 Australian dollars.
