In da scrap wiv da rest of da ladz!!!
|
Hi All,
Just thought I'd pop some pictures up of a couple of commissions I finished last week.
The first pics are of a Death Korp Ogryn sculpted/modelled for my eldest brother. He's putting together a squad of ogryn which will consist of Officer, Flame thrower, HMG team & two LMG gunners. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into sculpting the others.
Second pics are of a Space Marine Captain for a lad I met in Games Workshop awhile back. I cannot remember the name of the chapter. The whole design is based on a GW miniature. Both were really good fun to work on. But before I start on the rest of these I've got to finish a full sculpt of my Ork Warphead Hope you like.

If i may ask, are these regular 28 mm or bigger?
if its 28 then you have managed to get an absurd amount of detail onto them, great job!
i have no criticisms... Good WorK!

They are both standard GW scale 28mm for the marine & around 35mm for the ogryn. Glad you like them, thank you

Before I read that the first model was an ogryn, I thought Danny DeVito was making a cameo as a kommisar. Really, though, the sculpting is fantastic. For something like the SM's shield details, how much of the detailing do you do at a time? Are the skulls sculpted in one step on a blank form or do you build all of the details up, bit by bit?

At first I thought the ogryn was naff but he grew on me. His new owner has sent me a pic of him painted which I'll have to post later. Many thanks for your comment

Excellent , I shall call him thhat from now on & when I play his owner I can make comments like 'all deff gunz onto Mr DeVito'.
The detail on the shield for example is done in one sitting. I start with a rolled flat of green stuff which is wrapped around a copper tube I then push the detail in & then add the edging I then leave under a lamp to speed the curing. Once it is nearly set I trim the excess away & remove the shield from the tube & add it to the miniature. Thanks for your comment

That's some very impressive work! I especially love the face on the Space Marine, must have taken a lot of time and effort.

Can I suggest skipping forward 10 years to the age where you don't really care about what people say on the internet. Studies show that it decreases your anger about life in general by 37%. - Flashman |

Cheers Y'all
I the face was a bit of a devil to get right. I've sculpted GW style in 120mm before but never in 28mm so it took some doing. There was a lot of swearing

There isn't a way you could get better lighting in your work station, could you? The pictures don't do the sculpture justice.

Hi Ailaros,
Sadly these were taken in a rush. I actually have a photo studio I will endeavour in future to use it. Thanks for your comment
