Hi, I just got into Warhammer 40k and thought DakkaDakka would be a very useful resource for tips in playing and painting and as well as learning about the fluff and stuff

I play Imperial Guard(despite people telling me to play Space Marine, I did have a space marine army from black reach but I sold it to a friend along with the ork army and used the money to buy a Cadian Battleforce) and now I'm much happier with it

Right Now I have a Valkryie(which I partially ruined and made me never want to use plastic glue again), a leman russ and the Cadian battleforce (any idea on what I should get next?)

I also have a guy who is selling me parts of his Imperial guard Army
and just wonder are these prices worth it?

2 primed basilisk that is missing the rails on the crew platform, $10 each

a chimera(painted only guns) $20

10 Kasrkin models(painted but I can remove the paint) $20

hellhound(primed) $20

a whole bunch of Cadian and Catachan soldiers(40-60) $30

4 leman russ tanks that are primed(30 each)

steel legion squad (price unknown)

1 commisar(price unknown)

there are more but these are what I'm most interested in, what should I buy? I only have about 40-50 dollars budget as for now

I also have some questions about the fluff in WH40k
1. Are all records of the pre dark age of technology history such as the 21st century era history gone in the warhammer 40k universe?

2. My friends told me that its impossible to invade a Necron catacomb as an entire Space marine chapter entered one in order to collect some data and ended losing the majority of the entire chapter and yet in Dawn of War Dark Crusade, the entire operation seemed relatively successful, so how does that work out?

3. Why are Space Marines using Valkryies in the Space Marine game trailer?

A bit off topic questions

1. If the Daleks from doctor who fought the Chaos space marines and daemon, who would win?
2. Has anyone here ever done an airbourne imperial guard?

It's not impossible to invade a tomb world. Read the Space Marine codex about the Chapter that is wiped out destroying one.

Monster Rain already answered this, but you must also keep in mind that it's a video game and they needed a way for you to kill that faction.

They are probably just helping out the local guardsmen or vice versa.
