Just what the title says, looking for gamers to play 40K with. Would love to find an adult bunch to hang out with and play 40K in the Elk Grove area. We've got a new store in Elk Grove, Olde Game Shop.

I am aware of Great Escape Games, which is great, but I was hoping to meet people closer to home.

Cheers,
Pete

Annual bump. We have a group of 30+ people on facebook:

15 active 40k players from newbs to very seasoned, 5-6 semi-active Fantasy newbs. Everyone is welcome!

OWG is a tiny store. It has 2 tables that are always set-up and a two others than can be setup when needed. The terrain selection is limited, barely enough to cover the two tables to a 25% standard. The selection of 40K and Fantasy products is decent, but generally limited to plastic boxed sets, but the owner will provide a nominal discount if you special order something. It certainly does not compare with Great Escape Games by any stretch of the imagination, but it is local to those people that live in Elk Grove/Galt/South Sacramento, and don't we use the term FLGS? I've personally not had the owner be anything but sincere and kind, so I don't know what the previous poster's issues were (legitimate or not).

There is also another shop in Stockon (Heroes on Paper, I think). I've heard good things about it from a crew that play there.

This thread is/was not intended to promote or bash the FLGS, but to find LOCAL players.

I see someone has already mentioned GEG and while I do not play 40k I do see lots of players in there and some are more from Elk Grove as I have talked to them about it.

No doubt that GEG is the largest game shop in the area, and has a TON of tables and terrain. You'd be hard pressed to beat it for a place to find a random game or 3 on any given Friday night, plus they have a large tournament draw.

Personally, I play there on occasion, but am always looking for someone closer to home to play a friendly game during the week, as my schedule can be a bit hectic and adding an hour round trip is not always feasible.
