Okay, so... Have any of you tried, or even heard of this mod?

DOW:SSpro is a Mod for Dawn of Warark Crusade/Soul Storm, that levels out alot of balance issues of many of the armies units and build orders, and alters many others.
- It's been in progress over several years, and alot of attention has been put into the sole task; to have all the units be able to perform a decent task.
- The game runs a damage-system, that is defined as either "soft counter" or "hard counter". In alot of ways, this is very similar to the current Tabletop Eldars (which in fact is the most Hard-countering army in the game.). What is means is, that a unit either is HC or SC;
-- Soft-counter means that it's got a decent damage overall.
-- Hard-counter means that it's got a major damage, but only against a certain type.

Furthermore, the game uses wargear for the main commanders. Every Tier (or level of tech if you perfeer), two new pieces of wargear becomes available for the commander unit, which you then have to choose between. Usually, the two pieces either adds more mass (makes it harder to bounce the unit around from being heavier), and more health (self explainatory). So basically, the player is left with the choice of either.
- Later on, when the resources allows it, the player can then add a 2nd HQ building, and gain access to 2nd range of Wargear to further improove their commanders.

The game has also decreased the vision range of each units, meaning that you're pretty much fighting like it was night-fighting in Tabletop 40k. Especially the Necrons benefits from this, as they're even able to utilize it as abilities, which further decreases the enemy units vision range. (The Necrons are in fact the most altered race!)

The game also penelizes redundancies in the form of added build time, so that each time you build an already existing unit within your ranks (eg. a 2nd TSM squad), the game adds build time.
There has also been added limits to alot of the units. Mostly, these limits the units to either 2 or 3 of each. A few units, like commanders and their bodyguards is limited to only 1. (eg. GK/Seer Council).

All in all, it's a great mod. Personally, i haven't been fully able to enjoy the original game, ever since i first tried this mod. If you like the old Dawn of War, you're most likely gonna LOVE Dawn of War - pro!
