I played through ME1 twice as a femshep infiltrator, once as paragon and once as renegade. I've played through ME2 twice as a femshep infiltrator and vanguard and I'm about 1/2 way through on a couple other playthroughs as the same classes. I really, really, really, like Infiltrator and Vanguard. Started a game as a soldier in ME2, didn't really care much for it.

I play as a soldier. I like my assault rifle. There are many like it but that one is mine.

Also a soldier.

Along with a female infiltrator in ME1 on my first playthrough.

I've played both as an Adept and as an Infiltrator. Of the two Infiltrator is by far my favorite, love that sniper rifle.

I am almost done with ME2 as a male soldier. If they did not have the annoying restrictions on weapons and just added weapon specific skills like they had in ME1, I would play the other classes, but assault rifles are just so darn good, I cannot pass them up. All the other guns are highly situational and lose effectiveness at some point (except the pistols, they are just mediocre all the time). I only made it through the intro with the engineer.

Aboard the Collectors ship you can add any one weapon to your arsenal effectively getting a super soldier class.

Hardly. With the exception a DLC Assault Rifle the game is pretty balanced. All classes can beat the game on Insanity.

Male Inflitrator in ME 1. I love the Sniper, and I'm handy with a pistol.

Although I only finished the game once, and didn't try other classes, but I must say I wasn't too impressed with biotics. Or even sabotage, but I like my guy to be able to crack computers and open doors if he's ever on his own.

Not that I really need it, though

If you get you pistol skill up, and make liberal use of the various ammo skills, they become quite good; particularly because they will almost never overheat if you're careful.

I think he's talking about pistols not being good in ME2. Different tastes though, I didn't find assault rifles all that great, but he loves them.

I am as well, or at least the inverse of that opinion. Disruptor and Cryo ammo made the pistol useful.

Though, admittedly, I've only just now recalled the presence of the SMG; though I might include that in the category "pistol" as its basically just one half of the original.

I was confused by you mentioning pistol skill, since ME2 doesn't have weapon skills. I always considered the weapons in ME2 to consist of your class weapon (shotgun for Vanguard, sniper for Infiltrator, AR for Soldier, etc), situational weapons, and heavy weapons.

In both games my first character was the Vanguard. I usually also have an Infiltrator and a Soldier running around.

My main was a female Vanguard in ME1, but by the time I got her to ME2 I realised that I'd barely used or raised her biotic abilities.
So thought as I wasn't remembering anyways I moved her to a Soldier so I could use all types of weapons. Really enjoyed it as well.

I have since restarted with a female Infilitrator because I loved sniper rifles so much as a Soldier. However I started to use the engineer abilities. Realised I'd been a fool to not train up on the Biotics with my first run as it was pretty simple to control.

So have restarted another character, this time a male Vanguard to play through ME1 and beyond with Biotics.

So I know have three characters, my main is Paragon, my second girl the Infilitrator is going to be Renegade, and my male is going to do what ever suits him at the time and try and walk the middle ground.

That's a pity because sniper rifles are actually good in ME2.

Infiltrator. I'm always a sniper, and in ME2 with the Widow, I owned the Reaper in less than 3 minutes.

I played a soldier so I could get the assault rifle. Of course on New game+ I tried a biotic since you could take the assault rifle as a skill if you maxed it out on the first play. I liked the sniper rifle a lot too, but it was horrid when you first used it. It needed some points in it before the wind stopped blowing you 5 foot off target.

I've played part one as a male soldier... if I play the game again I might go for something with more 'tools'.

Still haven't played ME2 yet because I'm going through other BioWare stuff.

I played both as an adept. I really love the amount of battlefield control the class gave in ME2.

Although, it was a little rough getting him beefed up a little to the point where he was useful, the payoff in the end was awesome.

Soldier is probably the best class in ME1, but that's mainly because it feels like the game was only balanced around soldiers...

In ME2 all classes are good.

Meh, I like the Soldier's playstyle. I use my hotbar for everything. I rarely pause the game to issue orders, but rather find it much more entertaining to do it all in real-time, only pausing if I have to.
