Played my third game of 40k since early nineties last night ( I played 3 times back then only lol ).

I took the guard, my opponed took Black Dragons variant of the Blood angels.

Deployment was Spearhead

Mission was annhilation


The black dragons were behind on there gene seed tithe so Terra decided to send us in to rough them up a bit and let them know who is in charge. We were told upon arrival that they only listened to the Emporer however seeing how hes been asleep for thousands of years and we hear that excuse all the time we just let the fur fly and answered with a plethora of gunfire.


My list

CCS vox, melta, sniper, flamer

4 vet each with vox, gl and one of the following Las, auto, hbolter, missile launcher
2 vet in chimeras one with 3x plas, the other 3x melta

Punisher with las, plasma sponsons
Marbo

And of course the one and only Primaris who after 3 games I am confident could whip Mephiston back to psychic kindy garden!



My opponent

Librarian, 4 razors with las/plas
squadron of 2 landspeeders
2 dreads with hflamers and las
2 combat squads with las
and 5 devestators with 4 Missile launchers


I went first with my infantry spread out in a battle line on my right curving back kinda like the battle of gettysburgh and I had Primaris ( really should name him ) attached to a center squad.

On my left was my armoured might.


I advance the chimeras up six inches and then fire everything I can at his stuff. I got super lucky here. Took out a couple razors, and the land speeder squadron. He fired back and missed or didnt penetrate anything. That was alot of shots and it will never in my lifetime probably happen again. I move up some more and cant kill his dreads, cant hurt his devestators and I think take out another razor. He comes back and rolls bad on dangerous terrain with his last razor and so it catches on fire and remains stationary. Once again its a las fest and my punsiher is glanced and cannot shoot, one of my chimeras is immbilized and the other is still ok. He advances some combat squads and that librarian out of his wecked armoured coloumn. My turn I let the meltas guy out and ooops ok one razor was left because they put paid to it. and I shot up a bunch of marines. Marbo still isnt around, I guess he had company or something because 2 turns in still not showing up.

He charges and kills the entire melta squad puts paid to my chimmeras, and again glances the punisher. He has like 8 marines and the librarian in the open as all his other stuff is trying to kill my poor punisher who has been shot umpteen times and still not dead! Ok I open up with the CCS, and 4 inf squads on those marines in the open and cant kill a single one! they continue to advance and take out another couple squads. Well thats enough of that. Enter Primairs who helps fight off a squad killing them. Then he passes his test vs the librarian who has taken a wound thru perils of the warp and I unleash full on lightning fury and utterly destroy the warp spawned non tithe paying evil sucker then and theyre.

His turn the dreads assault the immoblie chimera forcing out the plas squad, and they stick to my punisher. I pull back punisher it still cant shoot and he kills of my squad and kills my primaris with a las shot, Marbo shows up and rolls yatze for his template of doom on the devestators and he is killed with 4 krak missile shots... hehe Needless to say he is still in hospital lol. We called it at that point but it was a pretty bloody and explosive affair. I learned alot and my opponent was a great sportsman and the game was full of humor and laughing. Really enjoyed it. We plan to play next tuesday where he will bring his jump pack version and I plan on adding up my force to 1500 by the acquisition of a basic leman russ ( need more bang! ) and a hellhound with the chemicle cannon and multi melta.

Cant wait to unleash the imperial might once again. 40k is fun because its forgivable, dice are chancy, and the models are all really cool. I like the game because you can enjoy losing as much as winning so long as the battle is fought in a good spirit.
