Well, this will actually be the second fight of the evening as the cron player had a real bad mishap and then found out that it should not have happened, as he did not have the VoD! so he had been badly trounced and we decided to play another one with the right gear: 1500pts

Cron Army: Lord with philactery/warscythe/resorb/and either nightmare shroud or shock field thing.

2 x Tomb Stalkers.

The Khadrovian 801st Motor Rifles

Command sqd with Power weapon+Bolt pistol/medic/standard/vox/Grenade Launcher.
Chimera with dozerblade and pintle hvy stubber and HK missile. Heavy bolter turret.

Veterans team w/power fist/hvy flamer/2 x flamers/vox, Chimera w dozerblade/hvy stubber

Veterans team w/powerweapon+bolt pistol/hvy flamer/2 x flamers/vox in Chimera w Hvt stubber/dozerblade.

Veterans team w/Sgt Bastonne/vox/3 x melta guns.

Necron Red Horde setup, he held the flayed ones and one stalker in reserve.

Having won the roll, and he not "stealing initiative", I went:

The Major had seen the auspex reports, 41 necrons and one honking big robotic centipede, he order the 801st to "Move to attack!" and they all obeyed, rumbling and crashing through the ruins of the once proud city, the Necrons, who never shared their plans or feelings if they ever had them waited impassively.

The central block reported good movement as their dozer-blades pushed debris out of their way.

The command chimera also made it's way through the building on right flank.

The Bane-wolf and chimera on the left moved without incident as the Hydra focused on the Necrons ahead of it.

The fire on the left flank was very limited and did little to no good, other than chewing up the ruin that the machines were nestled in.

Meanwhile, the Punisher and Chimeras as well as the Russ achieved some better results taking down a few of the xenos warriors.

The Necrons' stalker moved forward and the warriors fired back with their odd sounding Gauss flayers at the oncoming vehicles. their wounded having gotten two up, and the other two fading away. The Gaus weapons didn't do more than make one vehicle unable to shoot.

that seems a really small battle, at least on the IG part as there isn´t so much models on the table this time...

no anouncment for this thread? i am a bit disapointed...^^

Oh the Punisher did only so much but did knock one or two down a turn.


Part 2

The command tank crashed through the walls and set to open fire as the rest of the 801st moved and then fired as well.

The one chimera crept low as the other moved high! both would also fire on the 'crons as the Leman Russ Punisher would making several of the xenos fall down!

The Baneweolf crashed forwards fast and claimed one victim from the chem cannon, the Chimera and Hydra hitting more of the left flank crons.

The Leman Russ fired a blast that knocked down several more 'crons, and the Necrons would have to deal with coming back after that!

The Necrons then got several of their alien brethren to get back up, more fading away silently as if they were never there.

The Necrons in the other building that got back up came back and were closer tot he edge of the ruin to get a better shot at the Banewolf which seemed to scare them.

Then, as it was digging up from the depths, the second Tombstalker made a miscalculation and impaled itself on pipes or electrical conduits near the Leman Russ!

What little fire the Necroons did seemed to bounce off the IG vehicles this time. Excep the chimera that was shaken.

noecrons seem even if not now a royal pain... pretty tough nuts...

They keep bouncing back up! Like those egg shaped kid toys, the weebles.

that is pretty anoying... almost feels like the necrons are natural cheaters...

It was all a part of how they were supposed to be the horror of the undead in the game. Add that they used to blow tanks up with the basic guns, but now the worst they can do is immobilize and disarm me first.

are they slow moving?
they seems to be pretty tough and hard hitting...
they do have some weeknesses?

Ah! they do have a low initiative for hand-to-hand! They move normally. But Initiative 2 is slow!

meaning when in cc they would be soon knocked off their feet? they wouldn´t even get their own chance to fight ? hmmm so is there a good unit in the IG repertoire to have a go at cc?

Ah, I do not want to give a spoiler, but use power weapons and make sure the squad is at least 10 or more strong when they hit the Necrons!

^^ so now i wait and see^^...only i will be now having my eyes closed as it is time for a short nap...nothing more being able to do as it is one o clock alread here^^...again...

Part 3

The banewolf gunned forwards the final few yards so that it could inflict it's sprayers and flamers on the Xenos, though to do so, it went into the ruins, but did not get stuck.

The centerline chimeras, under the watchful guns of the Leman Russ and Punisher moved closer to the ruin with the Lord and his warriors. The one chimera landing on the ground after it's spectacular run and jump over the section of ruins! the driver and crew shouting wildly as the veterans held on for dear life! The other chimera having moved more conservatively.

The Banewolf fired it's heavy flamer,,then the chemical cannon, finishing with the heavy stubber, and xenos were faded out or knocked down. The Hydra helped some.

In the center, the Lord watched as the 801st fired and took down seven of his warriors.

After only a few warriors from each squad got back up, the angered Necron lord assessed the situation, his reserve force still not showing up. The lord ordered the command chimera and it's heavy fire be attacked and his minions obeyed, immobilizing it, and destroying the HK missile!

With the Stalker closing in on the banewolf, the other warriors fired on the "flying chimera" and stunned it as the other chimera had been stunned already.

Then, the Stalker rammed into the Banewolf, and sliced at it, having gone slower this time, the banewolf was easier to hit, and the powerful claws removed the turret.

Part 4

Having had their chimera made useless, the veterans of that unit got out and closed in on the Necrons. Sgt Vasily had his chimera close in and they got out to use all weapons on the crons for assault preparations.

The third Chimera zipped over and the veterans got out to attack.
[/img]

The veterans took out too many to allow for an attack through the ruin at the Lords' warriors. more of the other warriors did not make it either.

The Necron warriors fired at he veterans, but the veterans made it through with the use of cover. The stalker wrecked the Banewolf and the crew as they hid inside the vehicle were sprayed with toxin fluid from the ruptured tanks.

Final part

The Veterans after surging flamers at the warriors were able to attack on the left ruin, but the central ruin was still a tough nut to crack and the warriors fell back, keeping distance through the ruined building when they had recovered. The warriors on the left were not as fast as the humans and they were defeated, the survivors having failed the assault, were over run and the veterans got ready for the Stalker to assault them.

The Lord, his remaining warriors and the Stalker would likely have the flayed one reserves showing up now to enact revenege on the encroaching IG, but then the Lord did an odd thing, he held up a sign and this is what it said.

"WE SURRENDER!" and with that he had all of his minions cease blocking their recall systems and they faded from the battle field, having killed the Banewolf and immobilizing the one Chimera, while the Lord's forces had lost over twenty of his warriors, a Tomb Stalker, and the never to show Flayed ones.(He was getting tired and wanted to pack up)

Having soundly beaten the feared robotic warriors, the 801st was feeling very much the victor!

hmmm^^^did you name the kind of game you played? was it a killpoint mission? or had you to hold the ruin?

We kept to a simple KP mission, so kill what you can.

Well, the rules ar at ForgeWorld, he just made a mock up for use on the table, I am thinking he may actually buy one after seeing how brutal it was.

The first fight, Vasily and crew brought it down so that the Leman Russ Las-cannon just needed the one shot to kill the second one(the paper oval). ^^

Basically a good day for the Guard.

And spanked hard I did.

all in all as proxys go this one looked really good...

He did a nice job with card stock, aluminum foil and some spare gauss-flayers.
