I went to the Knightfall Games 1750 tournament on Saturday. It was 3 rounds, 2 hours each.

I brought my Morkz Anjulz (Ork bikerz)
My list:
Da’ Bossez (HQ):
Wazzdakka Gutsmek
Warboss on bike – Power Klaw, Attack Squig, Boss Pole, Cybork

Da’ Boyz (Troops):
Nob Bikers x6 (Pain Boy, 2 Power Klaws, 1 Waaagh Banner, 1 Boss Pole, 3 Big Choppas, 3 kombi-rockits & ammo runts)

Warbikerz x3 (including nob w/Power Klaw)
Warbikerz x3 (including nob w/Power Klaw)
Warbikerz x3 (including nob w/Power Klaw)

Fast Attack:
Warbuggies x2 w/TL Rockits & Red Paint
Warbuggies x2 w/TL Rockits & Red Paint
Warbuggies x2 w/TL Rockits & Red Paint

Heavy:
Killa Kans x2 w/Kustom Mega Blastaz
Killa Kans x2 w/Kustom Mega Blastaz
Killa Kans x3 w/Kustom Mega Blastaz

The first mission was annihilation/spearhead. I played against Eben and his beautifully painted Sisters of Battle army. His army was made up of the following:
Canoness - Eviscerator/BP, Cloak, Mantle, JP
2 Units of Celestians - 2 Melta guns in Immo Smoke/EA
2 units of Sisters - Melta/HF, VSS with Book and BP/CCW and Rhino, Smoke
3 Exorcists
1 Platoon
PCS - 2xPlasma, Chimera (ML/HF)
PIS - AC, MB (Sgt)
PIS - AC, MB (Sgt)
PIS - AC, Meltagun
SWS - 3x Meltagun

Since I lost the roll for first turn, I decided to go all reserves and avoid getting shot to death by the Exorcists for 2 turns. Eben deployed his Exorcists on a hill in the corner of the board, and then blobbed his platoon up to act a bubble wrap to prevent me from taking out the heavy support. He then deployed his rhinos, immolators, and chimera near the center of the board. The only mistakes that I saw him make was that he left me a little gap on the board edge and he popped smoke on turn 1 ( I was full reserves and not coming until the bottom of turn 2). The reserve rolls were not great but they were ok. I had the 3 buggies, 3 Kan unit, and 2 Warbikerz come in turn 2. The bikerz were gunned down, and the Kans took heavy losses (lost 2 out of 3 in his shooting). He actually had me on the ropes and was leading in KP, but then the nobz (joined by both bosses) came in and was able to exploit the gap I mentioned earlier. Once I was able to crack the lines I was able to split the Bossez off and pick up the needed KP.

In the end it was a good game against a good opponent.
Score: Massacre for me (13-2)

Lessons learned: Exorcists are painful, use terrain better with the Kans and help them stay alive.

The second mission was 5 objectives/pitched battle. I played against Andy and his newly rediscovered Deathwing. His list was as follows:
Belial + Terminator retinue (3 TH/SS, 2 LC, CML)
Terminator squad (AC, CF)
Terminator squad (3 TH/SS, 2 LC, CML)
Terminator squad (3 TH/SS, 2 LC, CML)
Terminator squad (3 TH/SS, 2 LC, CML)
3 Vindicators

I will start off by saying that Andy is by far my most difficult opponent. This is because he is an awesome player, and we play against each other at least once a week. This mission was probably one of the hardest for me to win because he has so many scoring units that are tough as nails. We rolled off for first turn and he decided that I should go first. I deployed my nobz (Bossez included), and all the Kans and buggies. I decided to leave the Warbikerz in reserve to counter his deep strike a little. Well, on my turn one I turbo boosted the nobz to a flank, ran the Kans up the center, and moved the buggies to shooting positions. The first shot of the game was blessed by Gork and Mork, because I had a rockit buggie pen and wreck a vindicator. On his turn he had the shooting squad come in and it scattered to about 1 inch from off the board (short edge), and 12 inches from the long edge. On my turn I had all the Warbikerz come in, and I converged on the lone 5 man squad, and dakka’d them down. The next big turn was when Belial scattered on to my Warbikerz and died (The dice gods were not with Andy, but he played on and still was a great sport). The end of the game was me holding 2 objectives, and him holding 2 thus resulting in a draw.

This was by far my most challenging game of the day, and it was the kind of battle that Andy and I have come to expect (our last tournament game was decided by 20 VP).
Score: Draw (8-6)

Lessons learned: I need to be more aggressive with the nobz, and then maybe I could have won the game. Also, buggies w/rockits and Kans w/KMB are awesome.

The final round of the tournament was modified KP/DOW. I played against Kenny and his Black Templars. His list consisted of the following:
Emperor’s Champ (Accept Any Challenge)
2 Terminator Assault Squads (2 TH/SS, 3 LC) in LRC
2 Crusader Squads (6 Crusaders & 4 Neophytes each) Armed w/Plasmagun, Lascannon
2 Vindicators w/POTMS & Smoke

In this game I was picked to go first, and I deployed my Warboss & nobz center table about 6” from my board edge, and had everything else in DOW reserves. He deployed his emperor’s champ and crusader squads in ruins that were not area terrain (his choice). On my turn one I sent the Warboss up to the center right of the board, and had Wazzdakka join the squad. I had the Kans take centerfield and 2 buggies hold the left side. The 3rd buggie unit was on the right side as a floater. I also sent the 3 Warbikerz up the right board edge as bait/counter attack unit. He came on with a LRC on each side of the board, and the vindicators semi center. He shot at the nobz squad and maybe killed a few nobz. On my turn the luck with rockits and vindicators was still on, because I was able to pop his vindicator with a buggie. The nobz went after the vindicator that pulped their buddies, and Wazzdakka split off and took on the crusader squad. At the end of my turn I had neutered the vindicator and almost killed the crusader squad with Wazz. On his turn he sent both LRC’s after my nobz (fortunately for me I split off Wazz so he was only able to get one squad on the nobz). The nobz assault went horrible at first, but 11 Power Klaw swings helped equalize things. I had the Warboss with 1 wound left no nobz, against a TH/SS terminator. Also during that turn, Wazz was assaulted by the other assault squad, and the terminators managed to only do 2 wounds to him, but the crusader squad redeemed themselves and got a lucky shot to the gonads and killed Wazz. On my turn this was where this game was leveled in my favor, because I was able to kill off his full assault terminator squad (7KMB shots, and a lot of rockits and dakkaguns). I also sent a warbiker squad into combat with the TH/SS terminator and Warboss, to save my LRC killer, and managed to have the regular boys kill the terminator before he struck (and they said choppaz don’t work on termies….ha) After that the orks were able to take out the LRCs (one with Kans, and the Warboss the other) and his remaining squads.

Score: Massacre me (14-1)

Final thoughts: I ended up tied in total points with the tyranids player with 52 points, but lost the tie breaker KP by 1. I took home Best General with 35 battle points and since that is the award that is solely based on skill I will take it. I thought that the tourney was organized well, and Knightfall Games did a good job supporting the hobby.

I really enjoyed our game and learned a lot about ork bikes. didn't notice this thread until I saw your sports thread in TD. I hate having to tank someone on sports just because I can only give one max score. As it was I just tanked Taylor since I knew he wasn't in the running. Sigh.

Anyways, great game and hopefully I'll get a chance or revenge.
