hey all, i had a question for all you dark eldar players, i was wondering what you all are using for beastmasters and kymeras and razorwing flocks, since the GW models are like 15-22 dollars per blister so if i wanted to have like 2-3 squads of 5x beastmasters and like 25x khymeras and like 5 razorwing flock would be like 700 dollars lol....so please...let me know.

Convert the lions to Kymeras, shouldbn't be too difficult, add patches of raw flesh with GS, tentacles, tail and those wierd pincers, all can be filched from various nid kits. Admittedly wont look massively like the stock model, but it will have diversity.

not much cheaper I know, but you can split them up.

Could be good basis for Khymerae conversions. You can get Beastmasters by converting normal Hellions and giving them the helmeted heads you can get from Wyches and Reavers.

As for Razorwing flocks, Either the bats above or another retailer who does bat swarms.

yet i still cant really find anything that can be converted to razoring flocks

Gargoyle wings were used before, But they're kinda costly (10 for the same cost as Kabalite Warriors, which will probably yield 3-4 bases at most).

yeh, il probably end up just using the actual razorwing flock model....but im glade i found those hounds instead....and i was gonna eventually just buy a box of hellions and use those as bestmasters...with the glassed head of course

Looks like you get 10, should be enough to make around 3-4 bases as well.

I'm planning on a unit of 4x Beastmasters converted from hellions and 10x Khymerae using direwolves on 40mm round bases.

4x Razorwing flocks will finish the unit off but for these I'm going to sculpt a bird and get a friend who knows how to make molds and cast in resin to make 30-40 of them. Horde should mean horde - not 4 crows...

There are a good few feather tutorials online, and they're pretty easy to do too, so it shouldnt be hard to make the Razorwings from scratch. However the materials, time and effort that goes into casting them might make it more or less easier to just buy the Batswarms.

Well, as far as Razorwings go, I was thinking these http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Tyranids/TYRANID-RIPPERS-WITH-WINGS.html. Iknow, not much cheaper but you get 3 bases worth instead of 1.
And I want my Wych cult to have a water theme so I plan to make some fins on them with GS.
