Dear Dakka Dakka whoever. I guess this isn't really important at all, but I just became a blood angels tactical marine in the ranking system after I had surgeries after being a scout... However according to the fluff, a blood angel is not allowed into a tactical squad until he's been tried in the assault squads where he doesn't have to keep the red thirst in check as much. So... yeah that's all.

Also, not sure if you want this in the suggestions for ranking systems.... since it's not a suggestion for a new system?

Yeah, I've noticed this as well.

It should go:
Scout
Devastator
Assault
Tactical

Well the regular space marines go devastator first, but in the blood angels they go devastator very late because they have to be trusted not to charge red and thristy into a horde of tyranids with thier heavy bolter. According to the blood angels codex, it should be scout, vehicle crew of some sort, then assault.

Yeah, the marine rankings are still based on the 'old' style of Marine organization where a Scout was made into a tactical marine and then those who showed specialization while a tactical marine would be promoted into Assault or Devestator squads.

They changed this up in the last Space Marine codex (and subsequent marine codexes) but we haven't updated the rankings to reflect this change.
