So I was out at the Chicago battle bunker today and I was able to get two games in. One at 1750 and one at 1500

I didnt get pics and this is more just a basic recap that a full Battle report.

First up was Jeffs IG to capture 4 objectives. Jeff is getting ready for Adeppticon but was still nice enough to give me a game at 1750(since thats the max number I could put on the feild today.

My List

HQ: Chaos Lord, deamon weapon, melta bombs.
Chaos Sorcerer, Gift of Chaos

Elite: 8 Chosen, flamer, 2x plasma guns, Rhino, extra armor combiflamer
Dread, Plasma Cannon, heavy flamer

Troop:
9x Chaos Marines, Rhino
10XChaos marines, AspChamp, combi melta, 2xplasma guns, Rhino, havok launcher
10X Chaos Marines, aspChamp, power weapon, melta bombs, Rhino, extra armor, havok launcher

Heavy:
3x Obliterators
8x Havoks, AspChamp combi flamer, 4x Missle launchers.

First of all I know this is not a competative list. I built this army back in 4th edition where Plasma was king. Honestly is wasnt very optimized back them either, But I did alwasy have fun playing it.

So on to the first game. I was looking down the barrels of around 123 guardsmen along with chimeras, hydra, bombard(Griffon, whatever the big mortar looking cannon) and a HUGE amout of rough riders. I have to say this, Jeffs army is fantastic looking. He is going with a Talleran theame, so all his rough riders are on Camels. Plus he paints Very Well! I unforutanly had to put an unpainted rhino on the table.

Well we trade shots, He kills stuff, I poip the bombard and half a squad of guys, we trade more shots, I wipe out a squad of guys between my havok launcher and Deads plasma cannon.
He springs Marbo on my Havoks, Demo charge kills 2 or 3, I fail leadership, I run like 3 inches. Next turn since Marbo is still close, I run agin.. 11 inches and off the board. My squad of 9 guys assaulted a vet squad wiped them out, then ate las and heavy flamer and PBS hit wil the leadership drop power. I would need double ones to stay, I failed, I would then need to roll less than 10 to stay on the board... I roll... an 11! So off they went. Lord, Chosen and Sorcerer assault some dudes and multi assault a chimera. I kill the dudes and the chimera.. I eat LOTS of laz and heavy flamer, need to roll ten or less and I get... an 11! so i break and run..8 inches off the board! ARGH
End of game I had one squad and my dread (Obi's ate LazCannon shots ... 3 shots in 3 rounds killed 3 Obi's). Tons of multilazers at my rhinos poped most of them.
So I held one ofjective and Jeff held three for a pretty darn good win for the Guard.
Jeff was an excelent player. He was fun and didnt mind helping get back into the rules. Plus how can you bitch when you get almost tabled by such a great looking army and fun opponent?

Game two: Kill points
This was a 1500 point game Vs Damein's(I think) Blood Angles.
I used the same list but minus the squad of 9 guys and an Obi.
His Angles was a Liby, 2 Dreads, a Sang Priest, 5 Termis with assault cannon, 10x Assault marines melta gun, power fist. 3 x 5 Asaault marines, Razorback with Assault cannons.

Man What a game. Neither of us could pen or even glance the rhinos/razorbacks(I think we did more dammage driving in difficult terain). I swear one round he shot at one of my Dread with all 6 Assault cannons and all he got was a crew stunned and a weapon destroyed and my extra armor dropped it to shaken.
I killed a Rhino, 3 of 5 termies(Plasma Cannons FTW!), 9 jumppack assault marines, 2 marines from a razorback. He killed my Dread(after 3 rounds of combat with the JP assault marines and the Termies) and a rhino. I think I actualy killed more of my guys with overheats and a scattered plasma cannon shot. He then ran and hid his squads so I couldnt finish them off and I dont have the speed too give chase.
@ big blunders on my part. I should have hustled one of my squads towards his line, because I might have killed another rhino with my combi melta and melta bomb, than ping shot off it with my plasma gun. The other was I shot his termies with a bunch of bolt pistols, I killed 1 guy leaving me out of charge range. Im thining it might have been better to assault with 25 attacks the way he was rolling.
So I lost another game 2 Kp to 1.
I did however have another very fun game. Not the best showing for my big comeback to the game I do admit.
I am now going to see if I can tweek my list a bot for a 1850 touney they are having next Saturday.
