I've noticed that on the games workshop site it says that any new models will have rules for WOTR as well as the strategy battle game. I can not find many for the strategy battle game however I do not have every source book. For example where is dalamyr of umbar, the new ringwraiths, floi (the new dwarf hero), gundabads blackshields. If these rules are only in white dwarks and such then I would just like to point out to games workshop that they said they would support each equally not only bring out new books for WOTR and let it take over as it pretty much has.

The rules for the new releases seem to come out in WD the month after the model. Then appear online a few month after that.
Regarding your examples:
Dalamyr : Harad Book
Ringwraiths: Morodor Book
The dwarf and the goblins were in WD (sorry don't know the issue).
You are wuite right though that the havn't brought anything properly new for SBG for a while, but they are basically doing all the units that had rules but not models that were in the WOTR book. So argueable every new model that has come out has had rules for both systems.

Ok thanks. I admit I haven't played lotr for about a year now. I sort of had a warhammer hiatus and then came back and only played 40k for a while and now I've come back and I just think it's a shame to see the traditional SBG buried under WOTR. I'm probably gonna do dwarves and elves from around durin/ gil-galad time and then get some models to change it to a 3rd age army as well. I am starting a blog soon so I might put any rules not in sourcebooks but are online up there, I will post link soon. Ignore the link in my sig ny the way, that blog was just a practice sort of to get used to blogger. Thanks.

I play:
Imperial Fists - 9000 pts
Tyranids - 1500 pts
GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment. |

Glad to help. I agree with you whole heartedly, WOTR is a nice system but for getting the spirit of LOTR the SBG just feels better somehow.
GW used to maintain a list of what book everything was in on the site but I have no idea how up to date it is.

You may be suffering from the dilemma I recently experienced... the Harad Sourcebook simply isn't available at the moment. It hasn't been for a while AFAIK.
I managed to hunt down a copy, so good luck!
