I painted up a gang of Black Scorpion minis for a western historicals game a little while ago, and haven't had time to post it up until now. Anyway, here you go:

If anyone is wondering what you play these with, Games Workshop has a historicals line of rulebooks (but no miniatures). One of them is a small scale skirmish game based on the Lord of the Rings combat called Legends of the Old West.

Very cool! I have the second one shown, but I do rather like the look of the outlaw at the bottom.

Pretty cool. How does Legends of the Old West play? Are the game mechanics similar to other GW games?

Were they looking for a Preacher on a Pale horse?

They look very good.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
the band is playing somewhere and somewhere hearts are light,and somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout but there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.

Think of something like Mordhiem or Necromunda, but with the Lord of the Rings system as its basis. Small scale games like this make every die roll into a heart attack.

The cowboy in the white hat reminds me of Wilford Brimley, maybe it is the moustache.

Thanks, and they are. I believe that the War Store carries them in the US. Black Scorpion minis are, in my opinion, the best western historicals you can find, and they're also a good size to mix with minis from Fantasy game lines (a lot of historical minis are just a little too small).

I can see that. To me, he looks like Sam Elliott's character from The Big Lebowski.

Gotta love those mustaches.

I am the guy who commissioned these (and a few more).

Garden Ninja did a GREAT job on them. I use "The Rules With No Name" and "Gutshot" as my wild west rules of choice. Both are great sets.

Thanks for the great figures. I can't wait to see the banditos!
