i just finished reading the book a thousand sons but there was one bit that left me confused

magnus goes to tell the emperor that so ething is wrong with hours however i still find how he did this a very confusing concept can anyone tell me what he actually did and why the emperor was so pissed with him.

He used sorcery to contct the Emperor which at that point was banned in the Imperium.
In the process of using socery to warn the Emperor he also trashed the Golden Throne and let a bunch of daemons into the throne room through the webway.

His intentions were good, but his execution was dumb.

Throughout the Horus Heresy books, I find myself liking the Emperor less and less. When Magnus discovers that the Emperor plans to stick him on the Golden Throne and use him to power the Imperium's access to the webway gates, I think Magnus would be justifiably pissed off.

I dearly hope for a post-Heresy follow up to A Thousand Sons from Graham McNeill. I haven't read a book this good in quite some time. Kudos to him for getting Black Library's first book on the NYT Bestseller list, too

not really. The emperor I still like, he is more of scientist than an actual god. Magnus didn't ever listen to any of the warnings set down by any of the Primarchs. Even Night Bringer said "Mate your screwed don't do it."

Honestly, there are quite a few bits of Heresy that would be easy to reverse...in our minds. We have 20/20 vision on the matter and don't have the mental faults that some of the primarchs had. Lorgar = Need for religion (not sure on a word for that...), Petrubo = Jealousy, Magnus = Arrogance, etc.

But yeah, using Sorcery in the face of a ban? Bad move. But then, what was the alternative? If every other method was far to slow and would allow Horus to remain unchecked to take out more legions ala Dropsite Massacre, then the Heresy may have been lost. It was a choice that had to be made, and Magnus' arrogance led him to take that choice hands down.

ahriman is trying to get into the black library right where everything to do with chaos is recorded and history of sorcery come together?

so couldn't he technically change the legion back to b4 they sent the message to the emperor? im not saying change the present just the legion by taking them out the loop (just the thousand sons restored and the other legions considering them traitors)

then as we all know the emperor is going to die soon with the golden throne going to far beyond repair but if he did die it doesn't speculate how the warp would be held back?

if ahriman did redeem the legion which has always been his intention would this mean magnus could come back to? and finnaly take his fathers place on the golden throne? until the whole other theories come into play "star child" etc but lets not get into that.

i think its a interesting theory and don't take it completely seriously since i haven't explained it as well as it fits to together in my head xD

Big E comes across as rather detached and arrogant. He has a grand scheme for all of humanity, but forgets that "humanity" is made up of humans, and more importantly, that his Primarch sons are human (sort of) as well.

IMO it's an interesting analogy to early 20th century Russia, with Roboute as Stalin and Horus as Trotsky and the emperor as Lenin (obviously).

Only a lot more explosions and siege warfare.

Ahriman got exiled but he fell out with magnus after his whole brother and hardly helping them vs the SW, but magnus exiled him because he thought they deserved the flesh change after what they had done but tzeentch played with the thousand sons again and drove ahrimans ambition to make the sons pure again but instead of curing the flesh change it made the psykers stronger and those non psykers or weak psykers into hollow suits of armour forever sealed with cremated remains of warriors and they became sorcerers drones who have no free will or intelligence. the armours blue and yellow because of the lightning that echoed around the planet of sorcerers for days until magnus ended it.

oh no they can't flesh changesince that was from chaos corruption instead ahriman turned the power of change inwards making those storng enough to control it very powerful and those that couldn't it changed them so much all that remained was dust so the flesh change has effectively been wiped out
