So, the two friends I game with most frequently play Eldar and Grey Knights, respectively. I play Imperial Guard with an witch hunter flavour (they are led by a Witch Hunter Lord Inquisitor).

We're planning on doing a little three-way campaign between us and I want to devise a storyline to go with the campaign. I'm just not quite good enough on the fluff to decide what that could be, especially since I'm not coming up with any obvious reasons why Grey Knights would fight with my puritan Inquisitor. Although I did think that if the GK friend decides to start using Castellan Crowe, by inquisitor would have major issues with the fact that he uses a daemon sword and therefore decides that this group of GK are deviant witches who must be purged. But then how would the Eldar fit in? I know next to nothing about Eldar fluff.

So I'm looking for some sort of hook that would bring these three armies onto the same planet and then start fighting with each other. Any ideas you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Gk are pure and have always been so. The Inq would never accuse them of heresy...
You could say that another Inq. Lord (An Ordo Malleus one as opposed to your Ordo Hereticus Lord) has declared everyone in the warzone heretical/corrupted and is using the GK to cleanse them.
If your regiment was fighting/cleansing the planet that the fighting is on when the Eldar came through and told everyone to bugger off 'cos this is one of their maiden worlds, it would essentially set up the setting.

Thanks Purplefood -- which just shows once again how moronic the new fluff for the GK is when they have one of their leaders essentially behaving as a radical by weilding a daemon sword.

But do ALL inquisitors know who the GK are? I was assuming so, but then I thought that perhaps the Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor might not know who they are. But I think your idea definitely works.

Likely that most do...
The Mallleus Inq. Lord could simply accuse your Lord of being a heretic etc
Your Inq. will obviously defend himself even against the GK the colonel of the regiment under him would probably agree with the idea of living.
And as a side note: Castellan Crowe doesn't actually use the daemon sword... he stops its powers from being used/unleashed by holding it but he doesn't actually use it. It's still a pretty dumb piece of fluff but as the rest of the codex goes it's vaguely sensible.

Does it make any difference that the Eldar are Biel-Tan?

Certainly validates their appearing and demanding that IoM forces leave...
Other than that... not so much.

After reading some more threads about the new GK fluff, I'm less certain about this. I mean, it sounds like Mr. Ward has FUBAR'ed the fluff so bad that the GK could be certainly accused of heresy. I mean, massacring a bunch of untainted Sororitas then smearing their armour in their blood? My Ordo Hereticus Lord Inquisitor would be majorly pissed if he heard about such an incident and especially if they were HIS Sororitas (well, now he leads guardsmen, but way back in the day I had the same inquisitor leading a Sisters of Battle force).

I'm just going to add the new GK codex fluff to my ignore list...
Just like the most recent season of Scrubs...
