So i recently got Open fire and put together the tanks and read through the rules, well after being a little over whelmed by the complicated rules, i read the mini booklet it came with, it contained missions to help learn the basic mechanics, it was very helpful.

The first mission Rescue, was a little boring but helped alot to master the movement and bog down rules. Basically you deploy one sherman in the middle and the germans and other shermans 24in away and its a race to the sherman its all luck but helpful, we ran through it twice, i lost twice the StuGs tracks were having a tough time i guess! We got bored and wanted to start shooting!

We moved onto Shoot-out the StuGs are 12in from the lead Sherman with the other Shermans 4in further back. There is no movement just sit and pluck away at eachother with the shermans shooting first, again all luck but helpful and after best out 3 of rounds i came out on top 2-1! we played another best out of 3 and he won, so we played one more match to decide it and in his opening salvo knocked out one of my StuGs and in return i knocked out 2 Shermans and his sherman then missed both shots and blew it away next turn! Hoorahh

We then moved into the last mission Flank attack, i deploy my StuGs 30in away from the Shermans, my flank armour has to face the Shermans he gets first turn, this is a combination of moving and shooting. Very enjoyable game! we played it like 10 times and helped get the basics together! We were a little confused on moving if you could just rotate as mush as you want, and if you could then what was the point of the turrets? then realized the whole 360 degrees of fire. That and we kept forgetting to do firepower tests! But we had alot of fun and plan on buying the suggested Grenadier Platoon and American Rifle platoon

overall very fun. Would recommend the starter set to anyone interested, its called Open Fire, its great! Hopefully we will get the hang of the more complicated rules after some trial and error!

thanks,
