Hey so my first year of college at Chico State is almost up and I have yet to find any other 40k players? Im tyring to start a club for us next year, does anyone know of any campaigns going on around the area?

ahhh bump for a reply possibly? are there just any people in the chico area who are fans of 40k? b/c ive got an army but no one to destroy-i mean battle with :( 40k really is a social game

If you are up for a drive, here in Redding we have a games store called the armory with open gaming, a website and a surprisingly large gaming community. Also I have heard there is a game store in Chico with GW stuff that recently opened up. Hope that helps.

A buddy of mine who plays lives in Chico, and I know for a fact there's a gaming group and store there, but I don't know specifics.

Have you tried checking GW's website? They have listings of stores that carry their products.

but as far as a gaming store in Chico there is one up the block right near campus. i talked to the store owner and he said that every time he trys to host a campaign no one shows up. but if youve got a buddy from chico tell him to pm me, Ive been trying to start a club here on campus. thanks again for the assistance! glad to know im just not the only player in this whole area who plays

I live in chico and used to run a games club at chico state. You could just revive the Gametheory chapter V from the ashes if you wanted to restart the games club at CSU CHico.
The guy who ownes Batcomics is NOT a nice guy. Dont waste you time with him. I tried to include him in our group and he just told me right after meeting him that he wasnt going to support me or my group because we were destined to fail. He is NOT an FLG owner.
Shane who runs Kettils keep over on Mangrove is a great guy. He runs games. He has four tables and does regular events. You can get in touch via his FB acount for kettils keep. There is also the local forum, Brotherhoodofmutants.com, as well as a game night that happens at The Down Low bar, nxt to the crazy horse saloon. They play board and card games there every tues. night starting around 9:30pm.
Also... I play nids, orks, Ultras, and nurgle. There are LOTS of people here who play. I'm on campus 5 days a week if you ever want to meet up.

An ya i did always get this creepy feeling about the guy who ran bats comix lol il go ahead and look up that game store you mentioned, im on campus everyday as a full time student. my army technically isnt ready yet but il let you know or see you around that game shop you mentioned

I grew up in Paradise and Chico used to have a business called The Fortress. It was amazing. 5+ boards, tons of architecture, 40k, Fantasy, LOtR, Magic... a real table top store. I went there for about 3 years. Then I went out of town for about a year to work. When I came back, the recession hit and it was in hard times. The store was an amazing community, people always there. I'd go in during my lunch breaks just to hang out. Alas, it is no more...

Well, enough of that. That WAS an amazing store in Chico. Now no more. PM me!
